I started calorie count in November of 2007, since then I lost 22 pounds. But...I gained 2-3 back and I never reached my goal of 145. Right now I am 155-156. I began this journey at 175, 5'8". So who's ready to lose the last 10 with me??

 

We will have weekly weigh-ins on Friday mornings and post them in this thread, tell how we feel, if we are struggling, etc.

We need support!!

8/8/08: 181.0 - ARGH!! this is SO frustrating. Yesterday the scale said 179.2! But NOT today! I hope I can still make my 178 by goal by next week. I'm pretty sure I can because I do think I lost 2 lbs this week and today's weight is only because I ate late last night.

Well after trying again this week I am up .4 pounds.  I am just about ready to throw in the towel for this weight loss thing.  Its so frustrating.  I started using the logs and food and activity logs.  Looks like I am still eating to much even when I come in at 1650 calories.  I don't know what's what and will recalculate my numbers using the guides here.  Next week AF is scheduled so there is no need to weigh in and I have a family reunion so I know I'll eat a bit more than normal.  so many challenges!

meek, don't throw in the towel!  if it ain't working, fix it.  :D  just make a few changes.  even just one change.  anything is better than nothing.

buy some fiber one cereal & pretent that's your new chips!  or don't eat that whole candy bar next time.  just eat 1/2 of it.  measure your ice cream.  :D

get out & walk!  or just exercise...

Like I said last week, just trying to get down to that 177 mark by next week! Have been sick this week, so haven't exercised AT ALL!!! which is making me feel crappy...going on a walk today at lunch for SOMETHING...so pretty sure the weight I lost was muscle and not fat. Some progress is better than no progress though!

Anyone starting another group for when this one is done?

Well if I wasn't doing so much already I'd be more positive, but I do so much.  I used to eat 2300-2600 calories, I cut to 2000, then 1600 with 10k steps a day plus weights 4-5 times per week.  Dammit I am tired.

But what's a girl to do?  I cannot give up.  I just have to keep tweeking things.  thanks for the encouragement.

Meekalo,  try the Zig-zag calorie count.  It gives you different calorie amounts for each day of the week... you have days you get to eat more and can afford to fit in the items we usually go without when losing weight.  There are days that are low calorie too, but they don't seem so bad for a few days a week when you get a couple days to have more.  After you fill in your personal stats it gives you the calories for maintaining or losing weight, then under that is the Zig-zag option.  After you click that it will give you the up & down calorie amounts for each day of the week.  It took a couple weeks for my body to start to respond to it, but I now average a 1.5 pound loss each week.   Hang in there, it takes time to figure it out.  Good luck!

Okay I'll check that out.  Well today I came in at 1799, my goal is 1600.  I am not exercising today either so my burn is at about 1900 as opposed to my 2200 estimate.  I am rebeling!

I just have to refocus and get it going.  I really wanted to be 10 pounds lighter for a family reunion I am attending, but its not gonna happen, so I just have to figure out how to dress to best flatter my puffy figure.

I am not giving up until I get this...I am watching fit tv right now about obesity in america.  its alarming!

I love those shows because they keep me focused on what I want and they help me understand how hard it really is.  It makes me proud sometimes to know I am  hanging in there!  :)

Fabulous halizabeth!  You can do it just push.  I will be out of town on Friday and am expecting my AF this week, so it may not be a good thing to weigh in.

I've kicked my workout up a notch to try to forge some results.  Still need to get the calories under control though.  I am at 1700 so fruit for the rest of the night!

i'm so excited!  it's the last week, you guys!  :D

I weighed in at 166.2 this AM.  Hopefully that will continue to drop.  I will post my final weigh in on Monday 8/18 since I'll be out of town on Friday.

Hi Everyone!  Well I was on vacation for the last week and just got back.  I was camping in the redwoods.  I had no way to keep track of my calories, but just tried to be good.  I ate ok, no pigging out, but did eat some high calorie foods and a few sweet treats.  I thought we would be walking everyday, but noooo.  I was a lazy butt.  Only went walking on 2 days.  But hey I had a great time and relaxed.  Got up this morning to weigh myself and was afraid to look, but I had no change from my last weigh-in!  Woohoo!!!  I'm happy with that.

I'm leaving for another vacation in a couple of days, so I won't be able to weigh-in until I get back Monday, August 18.  Wish me luck!  I will probably be able to log some of my calories and activities.  My girlfriend that I'm visiting is into calorie watching and exercise too.  We'll be walking and swimming a lot.  I'll be working hard to meet my 10 lb goal!

at least i lost my 10 & early too, but i gotta get back down there now.  LOL

i'm so excited for everyone & i'm gonna try really hard to get back down by friday too.  this extra weight should come off easy because it's "fresh weight".  lol  that's how i lost 10 so quick in the 1st place.  i had probably 5 pounds of fresh weight.
