There was this woman in a wheelchair hanging in front of the grocery with a note asking for help.  I just ignored her on the way in and out.  Then a separte lady with a note came up to me as I was unloading my cart and I yelled "Get away from me" at her. : )

Sorry I was not in the mood to be pucked with yesterday.

I feel really bad for situations like that. I hate doing it. Hate just walking past people who need help.

Especially the homeless along the streets of DC

My kids were shocked the first time we went into Chicago at all of the panhandlers. We just  don't  have alot of that where we came from.

Oh its just a scam.  They say that they don't have any gas or money and were from somewhere else visiting friends and need money to get back to wherever they are from.  Do not give these people money.  It is a scam.

Rural homelessness tends to be more hidden.  I was shocked to find out that there were homeless people in my hometown in Western MA when I was a kid.

I guess I don't believe that, in most cases, Kim. Some of these guys sitting down in the streets of DC. They look scruffy, not well-kept. I think they're real.
