Is it true what they say about eating after 8?
I'm always really hungry between 10pm and the time I sleep but I hear midnight snacks are bad for you. Is this true?

Mind I'm not pigging out and I'm still within my calorie limit.

Not bad at all! I do the same thing. As long as you stay within your calorie limits you are fine. It doesn't matter when you eat... a calorie is a calorie at any time of day.

Cool hair! :)

Brilliant :D I always felt really bad, but awesome :D

And hahaha, thank you much!

totally true - as long as you stay within calorie limits - you're fine.  i started at 143 and am now at 136 - this website rocks!  now i think of what each thing i eat is in terms of calories - and if i have 500 left at 8 pm or even 10 pm - i will eat another 250 at times.  losing weight by counting calories works! years ago i did it this way - lost 25 - when i stopped counting calories - I started GAINING!  BIGTIME.

good luck - Wink

I ate a zone bar immediately before I went to bed last night, we're talking 5 minutes here, and this morning was the first time I have lost in 6 days!

THAT's what I am talking about!!!  it's a beautiful thing - you can save 500 calories for a bedtime snack - AND LOSE WEIGHT.  so many myths there are about dieting.

I need to eat something at night or i can't sleep! I save about 200 cals for late night snacking.

I've never had much problems with this but I say if it's within your calorie limit, go for it. Cottage cheese is great for a right before bed treat because it digests slowly so it will make you feel full for a while. Or a glass of milk. :)

We currently don't have cable (to save $) and are too cheap to go buy some fancy antenna for our hd tv (I guess it defeats the purpose?), so we rent movies from the library every week (usually enough to watch a movie just about every night!) and I eat popcorn from Trader Joe's every night, usually around 10pm, while watching the movie.  And I usually go to bed around 11:30-midnightish at the latest.  I've been losing weight very steadily.  "They" say you're supposed to eat a big breakfast, decent lunch, and small dinner.. but I don't believe that at all.  I'd honestly rather eat a small breakfast since I'm not all that hungry, a medium lunch, and a big dinner, and small snacks.  I just feel better.  And I think a big part of being a success on your diet is how you feel while dieting.  The better you feel, the more weight you'll lose.. and the longer you'll keep it off.

So true that the better you feel the more weight you will lose - and just fyi - i lost tons of weight eating popcorn as a snack.  I am not concerned with what "they" say...more concerned with how I feel and how much weight i am losing! Cool

Actually it is AMAZINGLY good for your body if you eat some form of lean Protein rich food before bed to help muscle recovery!  It also keeps your metabolism burning...you never want to go to long without taking in some fuel!  Be strategic though and don't eat Carbs (Your bodies primary energy source) before bed...Stick to Protein, low fat, low carb food right before bed...also helps you sleep better!  Ahhhhh nothing like a midnight omlete!

I have a similar problem. I have to have this stupid tasting fat free yogurt, coconut and ice thing I make. It isn't sweet and it isn't bitter but I have to have this thing before I sleep. It doesn't bother me but I think I might be addicted to it and I'm running out gotta make more tonight!

definitely - i have a need for a late snack also - many times.  i eat yogurt also dannon fat free - love the lemon or the orange, and i have to keep it in my fridge or i feel cheated!!
