I did a 3 mile walk (it was on fitness on demand) and it was 40 minutes long.

How many miles is that per hour? I'm kinda confused...

I know it isn't 3 miles per hour... that wouldn't make sense.

Should I log 3.5 miles per hour?

40 minutes is two-thirds of an hour, so you take three miles, divide by two and multiply by three to get 4.5 miles/hour.

This site here says that you were going about 4.5mph.

EDIT: Ah pgeorgian, you got to it before I did. :P

Also, operation, if you don't feel like making any calculations in the future, bookmark that site... lol.

Thanks so much guys! (:

Woohoo!

Another cool sight for figuring out you miles per hour etc. is  http://www.mapmywalk.com

I love this site and log all my workouts on it.  It does swimming, running, biking, etc.  And if you don't know the miles it uses a satellite mapping technology that will let you get to the street level and plot your course so you can figure it out.  Pretty cool  The tools for distance/time and calories burned are under my training.  But you will have to register to get started.
