50 miles a month, 100 miles a month!!

Quote  |  Reply

Hi,

I'm just starting a group of walkers/hikers!  (no runners please you just make me feel bad LOL)  Interval walk/joggers welcome!  Basically anyone who thinks 100 miles in a month seems Impossible!

I have set myself with a goal of Eventually walking 100 miles every month.  I'm Starting slow with 50 miles a month.

To break that down 50 miles a month is ~12 miles a week.

which is ~1.6 miles a day

So far I have 11.6 for the month of April.  Anyone want to join?

This weekend (weather permitting) I'll hike ~10 miles up Mt. Evans!  One of Colorado's 14'ners!

FYI: I am using Map my Walk (online) to help figure out the distance I cover for every walk, a Pedomiter is also a great tool for this.

About 2 miles taking the loopy route to my parents' house and back.  (Free leftovers = yum.)

24 miles total

Woo Hoo good job Every one.

I am at 20 now!  2.5 last night with the dog... jogged atleast a quarter of it... but got to take it easy on my knee.

Don't Give up on us Girlfighting, Your doing great! Just keep doing your best and we'll give it another try next month!

Besides it's only the 14th... you CAN crank out 42 more miles!

Good Job on the 39 miles Fay you got this nailed... Lets see how much you can beat 50 by!

2 miles walked during my lunch break!

**10 miles down, 40 miles to go!**

lilsmiter: I'm holding on, I think I can make it, maybe I'll run another mile tonight.

~Sarah

Well, I am going to the zazen with my boyfriend tonight, at 6:45...

So I'll have to go home and pick up the puppy right away... change and get to the park.  So long as I run alittle bit I will have plenty of time.

2.5 miles

100 sit ups

~30 push ups

Side plank each side for 30 secounds

normal plank for a minute...

well that's the idea anyway...

Did 6.9 today w/ 4.9 of it being done this evening.  For a total of 45.9.

I am having a crappy day today.  I still am short about 300 (or more) calories and I have eaten way to much fat today...67g.   This is so annoying..counting calories, counting fat counting protein counting carbs....still have an intake deficit and I've burn about 817.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Are they good fats?? There's lots of studies that say high fat diest are better for weight loss provided it's good fat. My diet usually has around 60% fat

Yar!

Fats are healthy... to an extent.  Just stay away from over processed icky fats.

yum Avocado.

That nutrition analysis tool has me really wanting to run into a wall.  I am so confused by all of this now!

*deep breath*

Don't get in a twist Fay.  Here are the MOST important things...   1. Stay with in 700 calories of your burn metor.  I.E. you burn 2300  make sure to eat somewhere between 1600 and 2300 calories.  2. Eat fresh fruits and vegtables 3. Eat lots of small meals 4. Eat as much variety as you can 5. Try to plan your meals ahead of time to reduce stress and mistakes. 6. Alow for cup cakes and your favorite no nos.   You do that and log your calories, you'll be happy and you'll loose weight. Explanation for #1  You want a deficet but you NEVER want it to be too big.  I wouldn't suggest going below 1500 for an adult woman... particularly if you're over 5" 5... I've seen successfull diets with less ... but generally the women are what I would call petite.  5'1" or so.

LOL Lil!  *twisting in my chair*

So here are my stats from yesterday:

Calories consumed : 1723

Calories Burned: 817

Burn meter estimate: 2480

I have myself as light activity because I sit at a computer for work 5 days a week.  3 days out of the week I work my second job which involves standing anywhere between 3-7 hours a day (retail).  As you know I walk a min of 4-5 miles 5 days a week.  I try to take 2 days off.  What do you think?

faye: light activity sounds right, as long as you're just logging your miles and not the second job as activity.

Try this calculator http://www.phord.com/cc/ I like it better. I eat at least my BMR, it keeps me much more satisfied and I still lose weight!

~sarah

Yes I don't count the second job as activity.  I don't even count the morning walk with the dog...but I do count the mile for this thread Laughing

Hmmmm..... maybe you should count the morning walk, it could be making your deficit too large so you're body is trying to hold on to the poundage.

count your morning walk.

Tell ya what, I am 200 lbs 5'10 or so looking to go to 185.

I personaly wouldn't have a deficit of more then 700 or so... If you're bigger then I am go for up to 1000... but if your not bigger then me... you need to watch that deficet don't let it get too big.

OH and I maped my Hike for next week!  35 miles!

From Oswald park to fort stevens Oregon!
