i have an appointment to get a tummy tuck. more like a consultation... most likely a mini tummy tuck.  i know i know... everyone throw the insults.  but my stomach is horrendous. i was morbidly obese when i was a child... but ever since 7th grade!! (i'm going into my sophomore year of college now) my lower stomach has had wrinkles.  A lot of wrinkles! I don't even have stretch marks on my stomach... just like a small apron of flat wrinkly skin. i can pull it far off my body.  I used to think it would just bounce back... but in all the time i had wrinkles... they never bounced back.

my question... has anyone had a mini tummy tuck? would you like to share your experience?

I have been wanting to do that myself and I am very curious about it, let me know more after the consutation.
i def will let ya know!
Well, it's understandable-- sometimes these things are out of our control. Best of wishes to you and your recovery. =)
I just had a tummy tuck done in march. It was a full tummy tuck not a mini one. I had extra skin from being pregnant and being over weight. I am very happy with the results and I would do it again in a heart beat. The one thing that you have to consider is can you live with the scar? It does not bother me because it is better then the stretch marks that I already had and the extra skin. The stretch marks are mostly gone now. I was off of work for 3 weeks. During recovery I got tired much faster just doing my normal activities.  It has took about 2 months for me to get back to normal. I still have some numbnedd in my lower abdomen but it should go away in time. It does not bother me. Just make sure that you are done having children because having a tummy tuck would be a waste if you are just going to stretch it out again. I went to a swim party on the 4th of July and wore a bathingsuit and was not self concious about my stomach. I enjoyed myself and it was great! Hope thie info helps. If there is anything else you want to know feel free to ask.
smntharose, hey I was woundering if you had any before and after pics upon your surgery. I have been considering on doing the full tummy tuck. Because of the left over baby fat skin from being pregnant.
Hello

I am considering a mini tummy tuck.. .what makes it mini though?

I have excess skin on my stomach too and no matter how toned my limbs

Are, my stomach has always been huge? Im 24 and do not have kids but do

Plan on it? too bad its suggested that I not get it until after kids? so does

That mean I just have to live w/ it?
    Hi,
I had two c-sections and due to the way I carried with number one I have what they call a "panus". It's a flap of skin right over my scar and it looks like a curtain of skin. I HATE IT. I even had it when I was pregnant with my second (I thought that it would go away with a baby in there, but I was wrong). My stomach has always been the WORST part of my body. If anyone has before tuck and after tuck pics-I would love to see them. One day (when I am 100% done with having kids) I am opting for a breast lift/reduction (I am a 36 DDD -but that's in a wacoal bra that runs small) and I droop almost to my belly button without a bra AS WELL AS a tummy tuck and maybe an under-chin suck. Even when I am "thin" I still have fat under my chin and I hate it.
Thoughts?
HI! Can I be completely audacious and ask you how much your going to spend???? thank you.....
I am not sure if you are asking me, but my mom has gifted me some money that is to be used ONLY for me. It's in a fund. Curently, the fund has about 20K, but I think to get the job done and the right way with the right doctor is priceless. Kind of like the MasterCard commercial!

I have a wrinkled tummy even tough other parts of my body are fine, as in i don't have much loose skin except in my tummy (the lower belly)...i have tons of white stretchmarks on them too...but i found that the slimmer i am the less awful they look (thts why i'm tryna lose another 20 pounds and achieve a BMI of 20, after having successfully maintained my normal weight for years now), the only reason why i don't want a mini tuck is because i'm getting married next year, and i'd probably end up having kids, so i might as well wait, u know? because once u get a mini tuck, then u have kids, it'll just look even worse! however, I am getting implants to fill up my deflated boobs by the end of this year though :))

My sister is morbidly obese and she's planning to get a whole body lift done after she's reached her goal weight, so i understand what you're going through...good luck and keep us posted!
yeah i'm considered underweight and the tummy looks sick. so i really honestly don't have much weight to lose at all. *i've been told i resemble nichole ritchie... ew*.  i know once i get that tummy tuck... i'd be fine gaining like 5 pounds to fill in this bone everywhere else. plus... if i have children... (which don't sound appealing right now... but opinions change i know)... it would be SUPER far down the line. at least a good 8 to 10 years... so i'd rather have my young years not being so self concious of my body and enjoying my life instead of being afraid if my loose skin is jiggling aound.
by the way...there is something less invasive then a tummy tuck...have u ever heard of thermage? it looks exciting! i actually considered getting it done on my tummy, but since u're not thinking of having kids soon this might be just perfect for u....check out the before and after pics...atleast u won't get any scars from this procedure! be sure to check out all your options before u decide on a tummy tuck and do lots of research...these days there seem to be so many ways to firm the skin other than surgery...tell me what u think!

I've always thought a tummy tuck would be rather drastic as it leaves a scar, probably more suited to those who have had kids or those who have lost a massive amount of weight.

Other than Thermage, there's Titan Laser, Refirme and lotsa others u might want to look into before u decide on the tummy tuck.

oh yeah..here's the link for the thermage before and afters:

here's the one about titan laser non-surgical tummy tuck:

http://www.lasercenteronline.com/non_surgical _tummy_tuck.htm

it would a great idea for u to discuss to your surgeon regarding all the options, surical or non-surgical, and have him decide which one would be best for u.

PS. How did u manage to get from being morbidly obese to being underweight? Do share your tips...it's hard for me to even get my BMI down to 20 :(
wow i'm definently going to talk w/ my doctor about those options as well! they look great!

but anywho... i was 193 back in 7th grade and went down to about 145 through 8th grade.  my dad and step mom just forced myself to eat healthier and made me stop watching so much tv. haha typical sedentary lil chubby kid.  they also refused to buy me fast food or candy (candy on holidays).  then from then on... i got into dieting and working out. but an eating disorder caught hold of me and thats how the underweight thing came about.  but a good majority was just from diet and excersize. i've turned into a major perfectionist. and being a chubby middle/highschooler was not acceptable to me.
My "reward" for my weightloss is a tummytuck, breast augmentation and chin suck. I have had 2 c-sections and a hyst and am done having children. (That awful curtain of flesh does not "go away" no matter how much you exercise.) I say consult the doctor, be sure it is right for you and go for it.
your dad and step mom are awesome...wish my parents were like that...my mum is bulimic and obese (she actually used to be a beauty pageant and no one would ever believe it now!), and my dad's always away and stuff...so my weight peaked at 218lbs at 15yrs old in 10th grade, and it was hell losing weight with no support system, i just had to keep pushing myself, bu thank god i made it. right now, i'm still pushing myself to drop 20 pounds to get to 120..lol...btw if u do get any kind of procedure done, let me know, as i *might* be getting thermage this christmas!
