These recent music posts have been fun. I'd like to hear some of your misheard lyrics--what you thought the words were
The one that stands out in my mind is the one song that sounds like "revved up like a douche"
Not a song, but a prayer.
The Hail Mary goes like this: Hail Mary, full of grace the lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus."
I used to say "blessed is the fruit of the loom, Jesus" until my grandmother heard me in church and made me pray the Rosary for an hour!
this ones not really misheard lryics but i thought it was funny

Creedence Clearwater Revival: Bad Moon Rising
I thought it was "There's a bathroom on the right"
I sang that lyric like that until I was around 10, when my Dad heard me, turned down the radio and asked me to sing it again.
It was then that I learned it was "There's a bad moon on the rise"
THEY all laughed while I just blushed :(

I use to think the song went "Breathe, Spit Walk, what did you say? Breathe, Spit Walk Are you talking to me?"
Real lyrics " Re...spect .....Walk, What did you say? Re....spect.....Walk.. Are you talking to me?.......
Yeah I am a tard... BUT.. the song is pretty rough and I thought the guy was so mad at another guy that he would take some deep breathes....spit on the guy that was pissing him off.. and then walk away..
made sense to me..
Lyrics from dawson's Creek theme song:
"I don't wanna wait... For our lives to be over"
My version:
"I wanna run away... I want life to be over"
The sad thing is, I was singing to the song really thinking my lyrics were correct until someone corrected me. :(
Peter Gabriel's "Games without Frontiers"
Always thought the chorus line was "she's so popular"
Actual Line: Joue sans frontier (Games without frontiers in french)
nice!
Original Post by gilt:I originally thought it was "She's salt of the earth" till I saw the real lyrics on some documentary. Fun fact: that line is sung by Patti Smith, according to the same doc.Peter Gabriel's "Games without Frontiers"
