I miss food
I really miss food. I have been watching calories like a hawk, have seen improvements and am very happy. But dagnabit, i miss eating, i miss delicious food, i miss going to restaurants and eating whatever i'm in the mood for, i miss not knowing how many calories are in the breadsticks at Olive Garden, i miss being able to just go grab something to eat with my friends without at least a days notice so i have to eat accordingly, i miss not having to wait for my one day a week that i allow myself a treat, i miss pizza, i miss bacon, i miss pancakes, i miss eating the same meal as my boyfriend, i miss sleeping until 6am ( i wake up at 5 to go to the gym), i miss coldstone icecream, buttery popcorn, okay..that's enough of my ranting. I just needed to get this out, I've been thinking about it for the last week! I am doing good and will continue to do so, but yeah just a little sad.
Oh I'm with you.... I miss steak and all the chocolate in the world.
One thing is "Treat yourself".
Have a day say every 2 weeks, enjoy and don't count cal's.

I would also add that there * is no bad food, only bad amounts...:)
Kathy so ture.....
I had a bacon dbl cheese burger last weekend, and still lost.

Mmm.. I humbly disagree. I think there is bad foods. :) McDonald's springs to mind.
However, I do like the phrase "All things in moderation" :)

I think even McDonalds is not evil..the problem is you can't order half a hamburger...:)
Just work the bad things into your daily calorie intake and you will be fine...dont worry so much about it...you cant let it control the rest of your life.
No, but you COULD cut it in half.
And I still humbly disagree. :) But, I saw "Supersized" and it definately helped put the nails in the coffin, as it were. :)

I have one big problem with 'Supersized' the guy was eating like 3000 calories at every meal. Big breakfast, and sausage biscuit and egg mcmuffin? the average joe doesn't do that. It was, at best, bad science.
Yes the food is high in fat and calories, it's cheap and fast and fills hungry people up. We still get to say no, I don't want that supersized.
And I can't bring myself to throw away the other half..so I don't order fries....:)

I totally understand melika80! That's been going through my mind for a few days now. I never ate very badly but I didn't really think about it. Now everything that passes my lips is a process. I miss the eating without planning.
Oh, and I miss my mom's cooking.

I don't know about the Average Joe, but I always supersized when I ate at BK. Always.
I agree, it was unscientific. That doesn't mean it's wrong. :)

edit... Home made bacon dbl cheese burger
Nope not wrong, I agree with you there. I guess my point is, because the food is so high in fat (to fill you up quicker) that you cannot reasonably expect to eat it 3 times a day to the tune of 6000 cals a day and not experience some health-associated problems, including weight gain.
I have never believed McDonalds to be good for you...but I believe it is no worse than anything else within the framework of a balanced diet and a good exercise plan...IMO. :D

Fair enough.
In the end, that's the best thing about a site like this. Intelligent people who can remind you that you can make almost anything fit in your meal plan, in moderation :)

Exactly. And I think that is a key for all of us. Living in our lives, but finding the ability to moderate ourselves. :)
the thing to keep in mind is that the otherside of counting calories is excersise. I bicycle (alot) and can burn 600-800 calories per hour, 100mile ride can last 5 to 6 hours and burn alot of calories, so imagine what you could eat after that and still loss weight.
I ate at an all you can eat place in my town this week and lost weight( just to rub it in had 4 slices of different pies!!)! So find an activity that burns a ton of calories and you can eat almost anything. Though I agree with the mc D stuff not being the best choice

Excellent point, Dan. :)
Hi there, I joined this site today and I started a weight loss program like 10 days ago. Before, I would eat anything I was in the mood for, but then I realized that I was way overweight and looked unhealthy, so I decided to find out of all the low in fat and calorie foods I can eat at different restaurants; salads, soups and fruits are not as bad as I thought and they keep my stomach full. There are also a lot of snacks and yogurt low in calories that I plan on incorporating in my diet. I exersice almost everyday and I do spend more money in these different types of foods than before but I started feeling better with more energy and don't miss food yet really. I hope I can continue like this.
You will. Faith and perserverance.
Welcome to CC azulie....
