missing maddy mccann

members from europe, especially ireland and the uk will know exactly what im referring to here, the kidnapping of a 3 year old girl from a holiday resort in portugal 12 days ago.

I dont thing ive ever felt as strong a maternal instinct as i do now for this girl and her poor family. Its absolutely horrific, Im scared to think about the kind of world I will bring a child into, if I ever have any.

My heart goes out to her family, or to any other family that has experienced such a terrifying ordeal. I pray to god they will find her safe

Isn't this the three year old whose mother abandoned her, didn't hire a babysitter ,went to a restaurant to drink, but "Checked in every hour"?

I hope they find Maddy, but I hope Maddy is not returned to that parent.

i understand what u mean, but i  dont think that really matters anymore. I kno they were left alone but someone forced open a window to get in to the room. Who is to say that the same could not happen when a parent is in an upstairs room of a home, with a child left downstairs?

got to go to work but just wanted to say i totally agree with you. i hope hope hope they find her, but her parents are totally irresponsible. if they find maddy, she should not go back to her mum.

Kidnapping is a truly scary thing, and I agree that it doesn't matter at this point. She could have been kidnapped under any sort of circumstances, and all that really matters, at this point, is that they find her.

But... if they do find her, and I really do hope they do, I think we need to deal with the fact that her parents were very irresponsible.

I think that the parents were in the downstairs restaurant of the hotel and checking every 30 minutes.  Personally I don't think that I would have done it, however I think Maddy was far from neglected or abandoned, and no parent deserves this nightmare.

Latest update from the UK is that 3 men have been questioned but no charges or arrests.  There is one main suspect declaring his innocence and claiming that he is being made into a scape goat by the police.

The search has been scaled back in Portugal but some leads are being followed up from CCTV footage.

I pray for her safe return.

its weird cuz i was looking up information about her online, and come across a story about a triple homicide in new mexico is it? I mean that kinda stuff never makes the news in Ireland. Hw can so many terrible things be goin on in the world that were not made aware of?

yeah ive seen that british guy, robert mukut (is it?) is the principle suspect. What i think is even worse is that he has been working with the family as a translator, its sick. Same in the Holly and Jessica case in the UK and Robert Hoolihan in Ireland, the killers were along side the family "helping". Keeps your friends close and your enemies closer....?

but why such a big hooha about it! how many children go missing a day, and there is a hype about this one! now there is a £2.6mil reward for information that was put together by celebs!

how many other parents out there who have missing children would love to have their childrens pictures splashed all over the news and thousands of pounds and police work to be spent looking for them!

let me just start this by saying, I pray that little baby girl is safe, and she is found soon.. HOWEVER what the hell were she, and 2 other younger siblings doing ALONE in a hotel room to be checked on every 30 minutes???????  I have a 16 month old, and I cant even go to the bathroom and leave her alone for 2 minutes!!!!!!   The matter at hand is that this little princess is missing, BUT I cant help but think WHY WHY WHY were they left alone in the first place??

- I understand that it could happen anywhere, and it could happen while the parents are home, but in this case IT DIDNT.   Maybe, just maybe if the parents were there this never wouldve happened.  I'm sorry but these parents need to held accountable!!!  

Apparently dinner with friends was more important than taking care of your children.  And why not take them to dinner with you???  Makes me think something else entirely.. "what did the children get to eat...??

For the one that said that it was neglect. it absolutly was no 3yo is capable of taking care of herself, at all. AND, if she does this at a hotel who knows what she does at home...

why do people have children if they are not ready to take care of them.....

having studied kidnap and ransom (K&R) insurance in school, there is no way i would ever leave my child alone in a hotel -- especially in a foreign country.

i hope maddy is found and given to some responsible adults who know how to care for children.

awwwa i duno i think thats a bit harsh. Ok i dont have any kids and for that reason cannot say if i would do what her parents did. But i think that they have suffered far more than any parent deserves for what they did. I dont think what they did was neglect, it was a stupid decision. a stupid stupid decision that they will live to regret the rest of their lives

Im praying for little Madeline. If the parents can afford to gove £1.5 million as a reward in return of young maddy. Sure enough they had enough money to hire a babysitter. I mean come on you do not leave a 4 year old alone while you go out for a meal.

I heard about the ransom note they recieved lets just hope its not true.

I have two thoughts going on in my head

1) The Beautiful little girl is dead

or

2) Someone has kidnapped her because they have lost their daughter who looks like madeline mccan (this happens sometimes).. or that they cant have children themselves

Lets just pray its the second one.

but despise the parents. Because its their fault.

Lets just hope the random note saying that shes dead and buried under rocks is a false letter.

I feel the pain for the parents but feel more pain for little maddie.

It's always easy to point the finger at someone.  The only finger pointing here should be the trigger finger pointing the gun at the kidnapper.  If the parents want to jump in front of the bullet claiming partial responsibility, so be it.
