Missing Son, Prayers Please**-- BODY FOUND--**

Quote  |  Reply

EDIT: Chirs' body was found 19 months after he went missing. It is evident that he had gone for a drive that night and went off the road in the canyon.

A virtual-memorial page was set up for Chris http://christopher-coan.virtual-memorials.com /

EDIT: Chris went missing September 3rd 2007, here is a link to his web site, please let everyone you know know about this. Thank you.

I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here.

Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive to cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too.

This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before.

The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances".

This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst.

My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do.

I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things.

Prayers are definitely welcome.

Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything.

Please everyone take care, and go hug your kids...

I tried uploading the flier but it didn't happen, I'm not sure why.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It does help to know that people care.

EDIT: I took a picture of the flier and added it to my pictures

Not everyone goes to the forums. So what I did was post the link in my journal.  Hopefully those that read it will go and light a candle too.  Please know that when things seem the dimmist a light shines through.  I have sought out many prayer moments and hope that some resolution comes soon.

Take care and God bless Shannon and your family and the Calorie count members who have been watching and praying for this post.

There are some other people's candles in the CC group but I think if we just put all ours in there Shan and her family will be reading majority dedicated to Chris and her family.

This is my first post, though I have been checking in regularly to see if there were any updates.  I am so sorry that there is no good news as of yet. I just lit a candle.

Statisticly, I believe the fact that he has not yet been found bodes well for the idea that he is alive and well, somewhere.  I pray that this is true.  I pray that he just wandered off in a fit of teen angst, an is currently gathering his courage to come home.

I Too have lit a candle and a prayer for you. God Bless you stay strong.

You again amaze me as you lift me up! Thank you doesn't even come close to saying what is in my heart right now. But for lack of a better term, Thank you for your strength and kindness. I really needed it today! I just cried as I looked at each of the candles. It really does help to have such a great support group.

We have planned a benefit concert, there is a flier for it on the web site www.findChris.org under events. Actually we didn't really do anything, others in our community have put the whole thing together and put fliers around town. The musicians are all donating their talents and the owner of The Grind is donating his place. We again are hopeful the media will cover this so Chris' name and face stay out there.

A few days ago I added pictures in my profile of the freeway banner and the yard posters that were donated to us by a local sign shop. I keep forgetting to tell you about them. I feel lucky to live in an area where strangers are willing to do all they can to help.

I wish I had more to say, but unfortunately there isn't any more news of any kind.

Thank you all again for everything. I really am leaning your strength as well as the Lords. I know He is getting us through this.

~Shannon

Reason: Activated link. Thanks!
Not sure what to say, I have been following this since the beginning and hoping for his safe return.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Shannon, I'm sure this is covered, but make sure someone notifies the media of the concert... If they don't know they won't cover it.  Also, be sure your local news advertises the concert.  (I know ours lists upcoming events at the end).

Dave and I have come down with colds. I'm not surprised; I'm sure our imune systems are at zero so it probably only took the smallest bug to make us sick. It's hard to have real life marching on when there is so much else to do.

Today we are in better spirits then we have been for a few days. Maybe getting some sleep has help us. I took a Tylenol PM last night as was 'fuzzy' until noon, but at least I got some sleep!

Sincerely, thank you all for everything. It really is great to have a place to come to for such great support.

~Shannon
You thank us everytime, Shannon, and it is wonderful of you to keep us, relative strangers, updated!

As I'm sure we all would tell you, your thanks are appreciated but not expected.  You have a veritable WORLD of friends at the other end of your fingertips that have said prayers for you and all of your family each and everyday.

It's the least we can do.  And by God, if prayers ALONE will bring your son back, it will be done.  The people on Calorie Count are the BEST people in the world, and we are ALL in your corner.

That said, I'm sorry you're not feeling well, but I am glad you finally got some sleep.

Hope, faith, good friends & prayers.  You are blessed with them all.

Hang in there Shannon and DAve.   HUGS!!!!!!!!!!
Shannon-  I can't begin to know how you what you are going with, but know that you are loved and we are all here for you.  Robin
