Missing Son, Prayers Please**-- BODY FOUND--**

Quote  |  Reply

EDIT: Chirs' body was found 19 months after he went missing. It is evident that he had gone for a drive that night and went off the road in the canyon.

A virtual-memorial page was set up for Chris http://christopher-coan.virtual-memorials.com /

EDIT: Chris went missing September 3rd 2007, here is a link to his web site, please let everyone you know know about this. Thank you.

I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here.

Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive to cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too.

This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before.

The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances".

This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst.

My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do.

I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things.

Prayers are definitely welcome.

Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything.

Please everyone take care, and go hug your kids...

I tried uploading the flier but it didn't happen, I'm not sure why.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It does help to know that people care.

EDIT: I took a picture of the flier and added it to my pictures

Shannon,

This is hopeful news.  I can't imagine what you are going thorugh.  I know that it must have been hard to leave Colorado.

You might want to have the state run the vin# to his blazer.  If he sold it then there is a chance someone else registered it.

Also, if he is drinking or high, the shelter's won't allow him to stay, that might be why they haven't seen him.  It might help to find out where most people stay that don't go to the shelter.  You could also call the YMCA, and the soup kitchens, ask around and find out where everyone goes that can't get into the shelters.

I'll keep praying on this end.
How is Sasha doing?
Does she have any ideas or thoughts about things?
Are we 100% sure she isn't involved or helping him in any way?

Shannon,

That is really so encouraging to hear that someone has seen him!!!

The fact that the lady said he showed her his passport as identification is a really strong lead - that is a very unusual piece of identification for someone to be carrying on them.

I am so happy for the hope you have been given. Tender Mercies from the Lord!!

I just love that word - Mercy!! And everything it implies. I am sure it holds much more meaning than we can possibly comprehend.

Prayers are continually with you!!

Sharon

Shannon, I've been praying for your entire family every night, and I really hope that this sighting turns out to be Chris.  Though the circumstances he's in don't seem great, it would be such a miracle just to know it is him and get him home.  I will continue to pray for y'all, and I hope he comes home soon!
I'm still hoping and praying for you and yours Shannon.  I just want to hear that you have some peace and some answers soon.  {{Shannon}}

I'm still thinking about you and your family and the safe return of your son Chris. Has there been any news at all?

Shia

God is listening - He hears our prayers - Father, we just continue to pray that you open Chris' heart and mind, allow him to hear only you speaking to him.  Let him know that his family loves him and misses him, and is willing to work with him and through You to solve whatever problems he feels has driven him from home.  Give Chris hope to see the end to this ordeal, and to know without a shadow of a doubt that you love him and his family will help him to work through each and every issue he has encountered while he has been away from them.  Give him strength to fight through the tricks that the enemy is playing with his mind and provide him a much needed moment of clarity.  In Jesus Mighty Name...

AMEN!

Shannon, we are praying your strength, but I am going to specifically begin to target praying against the spirit of addiction and deception.  We love you, and stay faithFULL and prayerFULL!
Hi Shannon--oh so glad you have some new leads.  Continued prayers headed your direction.

Oh how, I hope that was Chris!!!   I think about you and I think about Chris all the time.

Still praying and trusting God for a resolution!

Shannon, has anyone looked around home for his passport to confirm the possibility of this lead?  I am so hopeful with this.

Thanks for keeping us up to date.  I will continue to pray.
Thank you all for your kind words, your hugs and your advice. It's amazing how many things seem obvious to others, but to us they totally skip our minds. It's nice to know that you are all looking out for us.

Dave met with the police chief the other day. Chief Browning is going to meet with the FBI on Friday. I am praying they will be convinced enough to get more involved. Oh, I want him home so bad!

It's not that I'm against the paranormal, I just wish we could hand over what the psychics say to the police and run with it. The hardest part is that we honestly have had dozens contact us and they all have a different story. We can't follow the lead of all of them. If there were a common thread that would be one thing, but some say he's dead, some say he's alive and not doing well, others say he is on an adventure. Some say he is still close to home, and others say he is far away. I appreciate what everyone is doing for us, whatever their talent is. I am grateful that everyone, psychics included, are doing all they can to help bring Chris home to us. It is just frustrating as the parent to not really be able to do much with the information the psychics are giving us. Again, I just want a lead that is confirmable.

Sasha use to come to our house almost everyday in the beginning of this. She slowly started coming less and less. In all honestly I miss her, I need to call her and have her over. I appreciate her support to us and her input and thoughts on what might be going on. She and Chris have been together for almost two years, she knows him better then almost anyone else. She was given the voice stress analysis test back when they tested everyone. She came up clean as not knowing anything. I would hope that if she has since learned of anything that she wouldn't keep it from us. She knows we are suffering, I can't imagine that she would let us continue on like this if she knew something. There are some that feel she does know more then she is letting on, but I am not one of those people.

Thank you for your prayers, in whatever form they are sent. I am truly grateful for the blessing that you are in my life.

~Shannon
I figured Sasha had been spoken to and the possibility of any involvement from her had been looked into, but I had to ask (grasping at straws, maybe?).

Shannon,
I have never met someone of your faith and unrelenting strength.
You inspire me and YOU keep me positive that this will come to closure soon.
My hope is that it is the very best, most desirable of outcomes, but in all honesty, I truly just wish for closure for you.
I want you and your family to not have to enter a new year with this pain.

My thoughts continue to be with you.
Stay strong.

Mary Catherine

I can't imagine your pain Shannon - I have a son Chris who just turned 19 and left home recently (in a good way) I would be devastated if anything happened to him.

My thoughts are with you and your family

Dear Lord,

I come to you on bended knee asking for your help. Asking you to see Chris home. To guide and soften his heart. To hold him tight as he is alone out there without his loving family. Keep him safe in your arms. I ask that you be there for his family as they are hanging in there sometimes by only a pinkie nail. They are tired and weak and in need of your loving arms. Continue to carry them Lord.

It is YOUR will that must be done. And we sometimes, are not patient enough for your timing. You have chosen Shannon and her family because You know that she is strong enough. When she is not sure. Remind her why you have chosen her soft spirit for this trial.

In your time Lord we ask for closure and resolution. Hold them. And let them know they are loved beyond their comprehension.

In your most Precious name, Amen

Shannon -- we continue to hold the faith for Chris's safe return

I, too, lit a candle in hopes of Chris' safe return home... and very soon.

Please remember to light your candles... there are only 6 candles left burning atm.  Shannon & her family need all of our support.

Still  praying for Chris' safe return and for the family... God Bless You with a true lead and help you find him soon!

Keep strong, Shannon.
We won't give up!

I'm not a praying sort, but this is a beautiful prayer and one that I sincerely hope reaches God's ears.

I'm the mother of a teenage boy, my only child, and he is my favorite person on earth. I can well imagine your family's heartache. I hope that your child returns to you safely and rapidly.
