Missing Son, Prayers Please**-- BODY FOUND--**

EDIT: Chirs' body was found 19 months after he went missing. It is evident that he had gone for a drive that night and went off the road in the canyon.

I'm crying as I'm typing, so please overlook all typos...I'm really not all here.

Our son, who turned 18 last month, has been missing now for 76 hours. He went to work Monday, left work and no one has heard from him nor seen him since. He wasn't having any problems with us, Sunday we all were together and had a great time. He wasn't having any problems with his girlfriend. He did have a bad day at work and we are guessing he went off on a drive to cool down, but we really don't know. He didn't say anything to anybody about where he was going. He was in a hurry to get to work that day and left his wallet home. So he has no money on him nor any access to money. We were able to get into his bank account today and there hasn't been any unusual activity in the last month. We have called everyone he knows and no one knows anything. His girlfriend has called everyone she can think of too.

This is so out of character for him. He has never done anything like this before.

The police are involved and doing all they can. Two different aerial searches were done today and tomorrow there is a ground search going on with volunteers and the police department. He has been listed as a missing person in all 50 states along with a description of his blazer. The police department made up fliers for us to put around town. The top of it says "Missing Person, Suspicious Circumstances".

This is so unreal. This is something that happens on TV, not in real life. The roller coaster of emotions is beyond imagination. The possibilities of what has happened to him and where he might be are endless. To the East of us is a canyon, to the West is desert hills. He could be anywhere. Not knowing anything is the worst.

My husband and our other children are hitting their limits too. Our home is crazy is an understatement. We have had lots of friends and family offer love and support. Meals have been brought in for three days. Our phones are ringing off the hook with well wishers and everyone wondering what they can do.

I'm sorry for going on and on, I just want to cover all the bases, but I'm sure I've missed some things.

Prayers are definitely welcome.

Mostly I'm still in shock. I'm not sure I'll be back on the site for a while. I will post as soon as we know anything.

Good for Dave.  You need to take care of yourself also.  Get to that gym!  Sign up for a run! I hope and pray that Chris comes home. Yet, life for you, needs to go on, and maintaining you own health and well-being needs to be a priority.  Sadly, Chris's situation is beyond your control at this point, but your health and life are still much under your command.  Take care of yourself as well as keeping the search for Chris alive.

Shannon, I don't know what to say - your strength through this is incredible. The mere fact that you are not a puddle on the floor astounds me. I am hoping every day that you don't have to be strong much longer and can collapse as that puddle into Chris's arms.

I have put his website info into my signature on another forum I frequent (over 200,000 users) so maybe a few more people will see his picture and might notice him in a crowd.

I've not been able to post for awhile, however I think about this situation everyday. Trying to think of ways to help, things I can do, suggestions to make.

I watch every blazer I see that may come close to the description of his and see who is in it. I even followed one to get a good look at the driver. My husband thought I was nuts following someone I didn't know. 

I wish I'd thought to suggest this earlier, and you may have already thought of it and tried, but what about contacting the news stations/media outlets in the town where the store clerk said she saw him and gave him a cigarette. Let them show his picture and see what happens.

As someone else mentioned, I was suprised to not see his pic and case listed on the National Center for Missing Adults. There is a link on their website where you can have them list his pic and information.

You are in mine and my family's thoughts.

Shannon, I think about you and your family every day.  I think about Chris when I'm on crowded sidewalks in NYC.  I'm looking for him, just in case he wanders this far East. 

Shannon,  I just want to echo the sentiments of everyone else here at CC that I continually keep you and you family in my prayers.  Your strength and perseverence have been a true inspiration to me.  I just wish you all the best during this difficult time.

I haven't posted in quite some time but I want you to know you and your family are in my thoughts every day Shannon.  The idea of having the local news in the town he may have been sighted in seems like a really good idea.  Let me know if there is anything you would like us to do or you think might be helpful.  Don't give up hope!  We're all here for you whenever you need us.  (As a side thought, if you don't feel like running and want to work out some of your frustration, I find workouts like kick boxing/tae bo to be VERY helpful) :)  

May the roads to finding Chris be brighter in the future. Thoughts and prayers from me and others are with you. Take care as well as you can. Your strength is amazing.

Bug in ALaska

Today is not a good day. Weekends are the hardest. I wonder sometimes if we will ever know what happened. Today Dave looked at me and said "You know he's dead right, you know if he were alive he would have called, or emailed or something by now, you know that don't you?" He goes through this phase every now and again. I think sometimes it's easier to think that he may be dead then to think that he is putting us through this on purpose or that he is being held captive somewhere. I don't know anything, I don't have a "gut" feeling about what has happened to Chris.

Thank you all for looking for him and helping us in so many ways. This really is the craziest thing ever. It is nice to know we are not alone.
