Our wonderful leader Zarelha started one of the greatest motivators ever here on C-C: a mission to run around the world, one run, one runner at a time! All running mileage is acceptable (no ellipticals or swimming) and anyone is welcome to join at any time!
Some info about us:
We started the run at the Southernmost tip of South America, in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. We will end the run in Capetown, South Africa, at the ocean. The total mileage needed to finish is 23,854 miles.
Start date of the run: August 1, 2007, 12:00 midnight.
Weeks start on Wednesday and end on Tuesday. Runners who have had no movement in a full month were put on Hiatus, however, we want you back! Post more mileage at any time!
Our Tally Team will each take one week to be responsible for tallying up that week's mileage. Post here or PM the RATW user profile if you have any questions or concerns.

Hey guys, 35.6 for me last week. And, I guess I'm going to have to scale back and do some cross training. Potential marathon #2 is not going to happen. :/ My 22 miler turned into a 12.5 miler with hubby picking me up because I couldn't hobble home. My ankle and foot are telling me that I need to take some more recovery time, apparently. :/ Nothing major I don't think. I felt great up until mile 8 and then the pain started to get pretty bad, so I believe I can continue to run shorter distances. We'll see...

Aezell, you've come a long way, girl! Excellent work. I also quit smoking a few years ago, and my health has improved considerably. Now if only I could put down the mileage you manage to accomplish . . . :-)
Pandajenn, ugh. It's nice to see that you are looking on the bright side, though: at least you can run shorter distances. And honestly, to a lot of people 12.4 miles would be a wicked long run! So you are already rockin' it!
Wrm2105, ugh also! Definitely take it easy, otherwise you'll just exacerbate that strain. You know this already, I'm sure. Good luck!

wrm, does that mean you are feeling better? panda, ugh, but jenka is right, 12+ miles is still great. It does stink overall that you have to postpone marathon #2. better safe than sorry. minie, you also rock! Welcome back, trinzaka. Bignate, congrats on the high mileage despite the extra day or so off. Nice job! Jenka, I'm also finding renewed energy lately; I'm attributing it to the early time change making the days longer. I loves me some long sunshine filled daylight. The warmer weather helps, too. Hi to all others not previously mentioned!
BLISTER QUESTION -- I can't remember what to do about blisters. I haven't gotten one in so long! But on Sunday I packed a bag to run while I was at the in-laws and forgot my good running socks, so I had to wear the 100% cotton ones I put on in the morning. That long run went great until the last quarter mile when my arches got a little irritated. Fast forward an hour when I got home and took off those god-awful socks. Blisters in both arches. Shoot me. Next time I will triple check to make sure the good socks are there. The short run on Tuesday didn't seem to affect them, but tonight's longer run (even with good socks) seemed to make it worse after about 5 miles. Advice on this is greatly appreciated. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Ferris Bueller?
Primadonna, my best blister remedy are band-aids. You should SEE my band-aid collection. I have, literally, 8 or 9 boxes of different kinds (half in my office and half at home, because usually I change for the gym in my office). Also, if you can, tie your running shoes a little tighter so that there's less friction. Some runners slather their foot with vaseline before putting on their socks, which I never do because: ew. I have flat feet so I never get blisters on my arches, but my toes get a lot of that action. Probably others have better advice. Good luck!

primadonna: I used to hike a lot and blisters were par for the course. We used a product made by Dr. Scholl's called Moleskin or Moleskin plus. Essentially it is a padded adhesive applied directly to the skin to absorb the rub and prevent the blister. Once the blister has formed you cut the product to fit around the blistered area.
I have not had a blister in years, but I feel/know your pain.
March 12-18: I ran 16 miles for the week.
March 19: 3.5 miles
I am scheduled to run 30 minutes today and 2 hours on Sunday, so I'll be able to log those in on Monday.
It's always great to have things to keep me motivated and on track with my training schedule.
I'm not at 100%, but I am feeling better. I'm icing the hamstring regularly, and I'm cutting back on mileage (I'm supposed to be doing this anyways, since I'm at my taper period). During yesterday's run, I felt no pain whatsoever during the first 1.5 miles, before it returned between miles 1.5-2. I walked most of that half-mile and was close to giving up for the day when I decided to try running slowly (10 min/mile pace) and see how I felt. I felt pretty good, so I increased my speed gradually over the next mile or two up to 8:00-8:15 min/mile pace), which I maintained for the remainder of my run.
3.1 Yesterday and knocked another 45 seconds off my best 5k time!!!

Also, with today's run, I have surpassed 500 miles so far for 2008 (502.7 miles to be exact). Never in a million years would I have imagined that I would reach this number so early in the year!!
