do u have a healty food that you mix with a not-so healthy food...?

I thought of this today because for lunch i had an apple, healthy but it was cut up with scoops of creamy peanut butter. it is the only way i can eat apples. Do you have something weird like this?

I love that combo!

I think that is still healthy.  We need some fat in our diet and peanut butter, just as long as there isn't a LOT of sugar, is good for us.  In moderation of course.

Now, dipping your apple in Nacho cheese...that wouldnt' be good....in any respect, but PB is ok.

Peanut butter is healthy.

I eat salad with burritos, if that counts.

I do that quite often with all natural peanut  butter. no added sugars, etc. I also use the Better N Peanut Butter brand which is 100 calories and 2g of fat per serving. It's definitely not as good as regular peanut butter but still very good.

I do healthy+unhealthy everyday. Steamed fish with cous cous and then Nequik chocolate milk . I guess it works for some people.

When I worked as a coffee barista people would order a grande non fat mocha..."make sure it's nonfat!" then I would ask "Would you like whip cream?" "Yes, extra"  I always found that amusing.

lol..i always do that!!  Everytime I go into starbucks I always order a tall caramel macchiato (however you spell it) with skim milk and EXTRA whipped cream..i always felt like the cashiers thought it was weird and now my thoughts are confirmed =)
well im gald to here that im not crazy and other ppl do this too. Is there any other crazy things anybody mixes
Well sure, I call it...eating.  I put butter on my whole grain, double fiber toast, I eat egg yolks in my vegetable omelets, I saute my green beans in garlic, olive oil and butter, and I put real cheese on my potatoes.  I also put real sugar on my sweet potatoes and I have been known to saute my carrots in butter and sugar, along with garlic and ginger!  And it tastes fabulous!  Moderation is the key.

I don't see it as crazy at all, in fact I think it's quite normal.

A healthy food mixed with a not so healthy food makes the whole meal a Healthy Food.

Usually.

I frequently eat the reduced fat Pringles (140 cal for 17 chips) with a nice healthy whole wheat veggie pita or tuna pita or something similar.   They have 8 grams of fat and probably aren't even real potatoes, but mmmm they taste good and give me that chips-with-my-sandwich fix.  On Saturday, I ate a grilled chees for lunch, with full fat American cheese.

I am a butter person and can't give that up, so I log those little tablespoons I use, and I save calories so I can have a few glasses of wine when I want them.  I use low-fat sour cream when I want and eat low calorie cheese and cream cheese.  None of that fat-free stuff for me.  I'd rather eat less food that tastes good.

It is all about balance.  I have found that a lifesaver for me has been sugar-free Jell-O with fruit, usually 1/4 cup of blueberries.  Nice dessert.  It is even better with some Light'N'Fit vanilla yogurt with some lemon rind and a squirt of honey mixed into it dolloped on top.  Better than whipped cream!

Cooking Light magazine has been a godsend for me in finding low cal stuff that still answers my cravings for hearty and filling food, and they put the nutritional info for their recipes and amounts that equal a serving.  Very easy to log at CC.

I like whole wheat sandwiches with french fries.. lol..... I dont eat this combo all the time when Im out, trying to order salad. but have to say that french fries going good with any sandwich....
I think most people do ;)

I do healthy eating all day, then I will have a small piece of chocolate in the evening, about 3 times a week. Don't recommend making that a habit. For me I want to loose the weight, so I try my best to stick to the plan!!! However, I realize there are times I want to eat something unhealthy. . .everything in moderation.

i mix 1/2 cup of chocolate milk and 1/2 cup of white milk to drink.

even though chocolate milk isn't that bad for you, aside from the sugar.

i always try to mix something healthy with unhealthy stuff..

Ex. tonight's dinner.. My stepdad is making a thin crust whole wheat pizza (still super greasy). So i'm gonna make myself some veggies to go with it. And for dessert i'll have fruit and yogurt.

edit: I do that 1/2 & 1/2 milk thing too. I just find chocolate milk too rich.
