Am I Moderately Active?

Quote  |  Reply

I've begun upping the duration of my cardio workouts. My sessions range from 40-90 minutes (split throughout the day) 6 times a week.

The thing is that I don't know what my level is. While I do these sessions throughout the day, I'm not doing all that much else. I do some cleaning around the house, but I'm not outside pulling weeds or cutting the grass. I read, relax, watch TV, etc. I walk/take the bus to work, but my job involves sitting at a computer.

What do you think my level is?

You are 'moderately active' if you're doing more than an hour of vigorous exercise more than three times a week.  I would actually say you were approaching 'very active'.   As a tip, start with the higher level & see how it goes for a week or two.  If you don't lose weight, reduce the activity level and work with that.   If you start too high, you can reduce and it won't cause a problem.  Start too low and you risk accidentally crash-dieting... and that's not a good place to be.

Cool, thanks so much!

This seems like a good place to ask, I don't want to start another thread about the same thing. I'm kind of in the same boat.

I recently quit my job so I'm home all day, but I do 30 to 60 minutes of cardio a day usually. With an offday sometimes.
