Moderation, is this really the key to maintaining?

i lost 30 lbs and now want to maintain with out cutting all the yummy stuff out but use moderation. like i have a bowl of chocolates in my bedroom and when i want one or 2 ill take a piece out for now and apiece for later or just for now(i have like hershey kisses and Reese's mini pb cups)ect. I really miss the foods i use to eat like when we go to cook outs or birth days i wouldn't touch anything! now when i go i say ok, "just a small slice of cake tho and a little ice cream or no ice cream". lol im using the moderation key for things. but saying this i dont mean i eat junk all the time! I eat a healthy breakfast(EXAMPLES:plain oatmeal, whole grain lower sugar cereals, whole wheat toast, natural pb, egg whites, fruits, ect) And my lunches are like whole wheat sandwiches with like lean turkey or chicken, veggies, fruits, low fat cheeses, laughing cow cheeses ect) i eat chicken(skin less, i eat lots of veggies, fruits, i like nuts(unsalted), i take a gummy vitamin every morning :) i basically eat healthy.

What im asking is while eating healthy as i do, when an opportunity like a birthday or a cook out or some cookies made or something can i have a cookie or 2 or a slice of cake or something as long as its not to big? i dont mean have my whole day junk food!i love to eat healthy but im obsessed with my weight and what i eat to where i need to calm down and enjoy food again. I dont eat fast food(thank god), or drink soda or eat red meats. ewww. im 18 yrs old, 5 ft 2 in and i dont weight ALOT. i lost all the weight i wanted to.

I also do exercise, on my ellical machine and do streatches.

yes i spell very bad.

lol you do spell bad XD

well, if you DONT include things you enjoy and crave for in a maintaining diet you will fell deprived and maybe end up bingeing, or just get depressed because you miss enjoyment so much, it's not a good feeling, you are human and are allowed to indulge, i mean you know how to diet so if you ever need to again you can. It's just a number, stop worrying abut your weight and eat when your hungry stop when your full, take steps to eat healthy but if you see something special you want, take it!

I think what you're asking can be summed up in the phrase... 'there are no bad foods, only bad diets'.   All foods have something good going for them, even if it's 'pleasure' rather than 'nutrition'....  If 80-90% of your diet is made up of good quality, healthy wholefoods, plenty of vegetables etc., then it's OK for 10 - 20% of your diet is made up with 'fun' foods.

A book you might enjoy is 'French Women Don't Get Fat' by Mireiile Guiliano.  It's subtitled 'The Secret of Eating for Pleasure'.

why do people ask questions when they already know the answers?

although i'm not sure that chocolate in the bedroom is ever a good idea, in dietary terms.
