My mom is so frustrating sometimes.....
So we were planning on going for a hike today with my dog. (Me and my mom.) I was so looking foreward to it. But my mom always does this. She says we're gonna do something, and I start getting my hopes up, and then she says that she's changed her mind. Its even worse today. Shes obese and is binging and I can tell she's depressed and it's making me depressed and she's just not helping herself. I can't help but think that I caused the binge because she saw me measuring my apple and it made her mad because "I'm proving my dad right," whatever that means. She is so frustrating. Sorry for the dumb rant, but thanks if you took the time to read it.
Oh and I just remembered that now that i'm not going for a hike I need to go downstairs into the cold friggin basement to do another 300 calories worth of cardio to get my stupid 600 calorie deficit in for the day.
No you don't. You don't need a 600 calorie deficit since you are trying to recover from an ED. USe today as an opportunity to eat at least your maintance calories.
Swimchick,
Try not to let your mom's depression pull you down. I know from personal experience how hard this can be, my mom's a bipolar drug addict and I'm just now learning how to turn off the guilt (both what she tries to generate and what my own disfuction creates).
You did not cause her issues. If she's got some jeolousy issues or your success points out her failures (in her eyes) that is NOT your fault. She is the grown up, you are the kid (figurativly, maybe not in reality). If ya ever need to vent, shoot me an email ![]()
Go for that hike by yourself and use the alone time to meditate on the good in your life and your successes.
hi swim, i read your post...
sometimes parents are... unpredictable, my mom is like that, and i kinda understand how you feel, but some people told me, that's her life, and that's what she learned to do with it, stop worrying about it, instead focus on the things you dont want to do when you grow up, and work on it...aaannnddd love your mom, maybe she just needs some hugs and kisses
bye. take care
