1 lb shortening
1 cup boiling water
5 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Mom's meat pies crust

  1. Cream shortening and add boiling water. Blend until mixture is creamy.

  2. Add 1 cup flour and stir in. Gradually add rest of flour, salt and baking powder. Mix well.

  3. Roll out as thin as possible without falling apart.
