poppy seed bread with a brown sugar glaze
| 1/4 | cup poppy seeds |
| 3/4 | cup milk |
| 1/2 | cup butter |
| 3/4 | cup granulated sugar |
| 2 | eggs |
| 1 | tsp lemon juice |
| 2 | cups flour |
| 2 1/2 | tsp baking powder |
| 1/2 | tsp salt |
| 5 | tbsp brown sugar |
| 2 | tbsp butter |
| 2 | tbsp cream |
put poppy seeds and milk in small bowl.let stand 30 minutes.combine butter,sugar and egg in bowl.beat.add second egg and lemon juice.beat until smooth.stir in poppy seed mixture.measure flour,baking powder,salt in a small bowl.mix well.bake in 350F oven for 1 hour.Pour glaze over top.cool 10 minutes before removeing from pan to cool.
