Monday check-ins and a question for everyone..

Quote  |  Reply

Hey!  I'm Kristen!  I'm having weekly weigh-ins on Monday.  I figure that knowing I have to get on the scale Monday morning will help me do well over the weekend :)  Anyone want to join?  You can post weight loss instead of actual weight, that would work too, though we all seem to be in the same boat.

And here is my question:  I know that I have a more solid core than the average girl, but how can I put this in perspective?  I was really shocked to find that a girl with similar measurements as me weighs 180-something, while I weigh 230-something.  My measurements are bust: 48, waist: 38, hips: 47.  Anyone with similar measurements want to chime in?

I'm trying to determine my final goal weight.  My personal best has been 170, and I wasn't skinny, I still had a little bit of a belly, but I looked and felt amazing.  I'm 5'7 by the way, and 20 years old.  I used to run distance and dance so.. sigh.. this is pretty woeful to report.

5 lbs. is good for a week! Be glad you went down and not up. Great job!!

Ew.  Well I'm still at 230.5, which is technically down a pound from Monday, but nowhere from Tuesday.  I'm going to count it as a pound lost for the week and do something about this retention- I should have lost more this week!

I am happy I lost......don't get me wrong...

Just been trying really hard and was hoping for more.....

I actually hope that I stay at this pace..and it just wasn't all water weight!

175.4 current

184 start weight

GREAT JOB!!  I was 188 last week ( and first week) and I am down to 183. So down 5. I hope I can keep this up.

Laughing

Last Monday I was 207.4 to start.... Today... 200.8 which is 6.6 lbs!

Hope I can keep this up!

I was 197 last week and weighed in at 194 last Friday!  That's 3 pounds in a week!

i will like to join i lost 3 pounds since last tuesday! Only 57 more to go LOL

Started in 12-28-08

Down 6 pounds the first week

Down 4 pounds this week

10 pounds total in 2 weeks....WOOHOO.

I don't say that I am on a "diet"....I just change WHAT and WHEN I eat.  I now read labels and choose low fat, sugar free items.  Cut out the bad foods: no sodas, no fried food, no refined sugars.  I thought it would be hard but amazingly it is really really simple for me to do and stick with!

I stick to 1,400 calories a day - but space it out over 6 meals and I am eating all day long...without being hungry or feeling "deprived".  I also make sure I go to the gym at least 5x a week.  I do Curves M-F and then Lifetime Fitness on Sat/Sun with the family.  I've seen alot of posts where people don't think that Curves is a really effective workout, but  I bought a pulse/heart monitor to track my heart rate and calories burned.  For a 30 min session (which is all it takes to complete the circuit 2x - the recommended amount of time), I burn from 340 - 375 calories.  Not too shabby for a half an hour work out.

On an average day, I burn over 2500 calories and consume 1400 calories...leaving me a 1100 calorie delta per day.   This comes out to 2.2 pounds a week weight lose.

I would love to join in on the Monday weigh-ins.  I've only been using the calorie log for a few days, but it's made a huge difference.

I weighed 222 this morning, and since I'm only 5'6", that's just not acceptable.  I don't really care what my scale number is.  I want to get back into size 10 jeans.  Since I know that's not possible at 222, I would like to get back to between 130 and 140.  I haven't weighed that in 10 years.  At 42, 43 in just a couple of weeks, the weight is not coming off easily, but I'm determined.

I haven't taken my measurements lately, but I'm meeting with a personal trainer this week, so I'll get them then.

Does anyone besides me wonder how the heck you got to this point (whatever that point is)?  Undecided

No.. I'm not much of a regretful person.  Staying focused on improvement instead of negative feelings has helped me a lot in the past.  You're going to need to be your own friend if you want to lose weight and keep it off.  So play nice.

Well here is my weigh in for 1/12/08

I have lost 4 lbs!!!

Starting weight: 250

Weight Today: 246

I won't be doing my measurements every week. I want to do them every 2 weeks.

good Luck to all!

I wasn't playing, and I didn't think anything I said wasn't nice.  Sorry if I offended you.  I was just thinking "out loud", so to speak...

Hello,

I have been on this site since november.  At first I was doing really well, ended up loosing about about 10lbs.  Really excited but then the holidays got in the way and I slowly drifted off this site and stopped counting.

My friends and I have decided to get together a sort of biggest loser contest between ourselves (to use sort of as a motivation) and I need something to keep me in check.

I would like to join the monday weigh in's as well, to keep myself in check and constantly updating and thinking about it.

My starting weight is 215lbs as of right now and my measurements are 40-39-42.  I am 5'6 and 215lbs as of this morning (and yesterday). I used to be somewhere around 36-32-34...

It was great and that was only like 1 1/2 yrs ago.  I am now 22 1/2 (alot of my weight came when I turned 21 and not excersizing after the bars).

I am excited to get back down around 160 eventually but right now my goal is 180 by my bday in mid may! (which is about 2lbs a week)

Good luck everyone,

Tiffany

I meant play nice with yourself!  You didn't offend me, I'm just trying to encourage you to be forgiving of yourself.

I'm game to posting my weight loss.  Three ladies I work with are also currently doing a weigh in on Mondays.  We are motivating each other, but also trying to see who can lose the most weight by June 1.  Of course we are all going to try to do it the right way, so we don't gain it all back.

I have currently changed my eating habits, and started to work out. I will not say that I am on a diet.  If I do I am determined to fail.  So eating healthy works for me. :)

See you on Monday.

Mellie Smile

Okay, I'm definitey in, too!

I didn't take my measurements, but I know that this Monday I weighed 190.4. I'm 21 (22 in a few weeks) and 5'8".

I started CC last year around this time, and made some great progress, but then fell off the bandwagon, which was a bummer. But, now I'm back and even more committed to looking good in a bikini this summer!

Definitely looking forward to the group encouragement! Yay!

To be added to the roll call please post your start weight, current weight, and goal weight. People not updating their weight for more than 2 weeks will be removed from the roll call- to get back on the roll call just post your stats again. Please post all weight updates and new info in BOLD so I can add you here. Thanks!

Yes - I would like to post on Mondays.  I just joined the group.  My start weight is 197 (current) and my ideal weight is 130.

Hi Guys and Gals.  I thought I would increase the testosterone in this room by a trace amount.

I've been trying to lose weight since I care to remember.  For 8 years or so I have been yoyo dieting; this undoubtedly has had a damaging effect on my relationship with food, it is either feast or famine.  Recently though, I have become more informed about nutrition and I am currently on phase 1 of the south beach diet (soon to be entering phase 2) and it is going really well.  CC has helped me combine healthy eating with the statistics I so often lacked in previous attempts.

Knowledge is power!

Anyway, I digress - I would like to join. Please Laughing

SW (Jan 4th 09) 250lb

GW (Sep 6th 09) 182lb

CW (Mon 12th Jan) 243.5lb

Weight lost: 6.5lb

Thank you,

C
