Monday Weigh-in Group

I figured I would start a new Monday weigh-in group (I actually couldn't find any...but I'm sure they're out there). For all those people who weigh in on Mondays, come here to share your progress, your setbacks, and find a buddy or two!


After gaining 15lbs in the past 3 months (ugh), I need to get back to working out and eating right like I used to! I want to get back on track before I start graduate school in July, so I can take those healthy habits with me into my new life! Anyway, today I am starting again. I have a new mindset: I don't hope to lose the weight or hope to become healthy. I AM going to lose the weight and I AM going to be healthy.


With that said,

Starting Date: 04/27/09
Starting Weight: 170lb
Current Weight: 170lb
Goal Weight: 140lb
Goal Date: 05/14/10

Cool I weigh in on Mondays, I had my kiddo was 191 went down to 163, stopped riding my horse and shot up to 181. so needless to say Im back on the ban wagon again.

 Cann! Glad to have you on board. So far it's just been the 3 of us, Anns, Carrie and myself. Do you have a date that you'd like to see the goal completed? What is it that you've got for an 'attack plan'? Probably going too far out on this but we'll be glad to be your cheering support group. :D

I know I sabotaged last week, not sure what that's about and am having a bit of a hard time stepping on the scale this morning....  I'm going up there now to face reality....  I think this week will be lots of journaling and reflection.  Then back on the wagon.  

"The Ball" is next Saturday (my B-day at that...).  My formal gown is beautiful and it fits (even had to take it in a smidge).  My one and only Cinderella moment in life....LOL!

 How did your ball go? I'm so glad that you were able to fit into it and also take in a few inches! That's just awesome! Happy belated Birthday also!

Oh, I have to admit, it was only taken in about 1/2 inch, nothing drastic...but that still feels good.

The Ball was wonderful....I've now had my successful Cinderella moment in life :)

10/12/09 162.4  I didn't think I'd ever be happy about no weight lost.

10/19/09 163.0  I'm still doing okay with this..

10/26/09 164.0  I've obviously figured out how to do maintenance.  

I've added a cardio-climbing class on Thurs nights and snow shoveling season is here, so hopefully that will help with breaking out of this rut....I also refuse to buy any more cheese.  

I was so tempted, for just a brief moment, to put a lower weight, then realized that this is all about being honest with myself.  That's why I have a weight struggle, I fight with reality.  I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be today. I don't have to like it, just hang tough and work it out.

I guess sometimes a bit of frustration pays off in some insight.  Not fun, but I'm glad I saw it for what it was....

I'm with you Anns! I'm just maintaining my weight here. I'm still riding 1.5hr weekly and jogging 1 mile 1-5 days a week. I'm just happy that I'm not going up. I'm happy that I am where I am because it's been my weight since high school. I still need to think positive. Smile

Goal Weight: 150 lbs

Not the loss I was hoping for, but it was a loss nonetheless.  I think I'm becoming OK with how much my loss has slowed down over the last 2 months.  I feel like I've been trying to get to 170 forEVER.  I was pretty frustrated and impatient at first, but now I'm realizing I'm in it for the long haul.  If I make my first goal (150) in January or I make it next July, I'm still gonna make it.

Yep, for me it's getting below 160.  I flirted with it at 161.8 then went back to 164.  I like what you said about the long haul!  It's going to happen, not if but when...

 I believe that we three amigas, Carrie, Ann and I, are all going for that below 150lbs and unfortunately we're getting an extremely long plateau. I am glad to hear that we're all still cheering everyone on. Thanks! I, myself, flirted with 160lbs too and got only to 162.8 lbs and have been on a roller coaster since there. For now, maintain is the name of this roller coaster. Once we get off, it's -5lbs! Go get'em girls!

Hang tough this weekend...Monday will be a successful day!

11/02/09  160.4 Back on track (total loss of 9.8lbs if I don't count the relapses:D

Except I'm feeling a bit like road kill....  Went for a long day of climbing/hiking yesterday.  I'm not as sore as I've been in the past though, which is progress.

I had a great week and then got totally derailed this weekend.  Drinks and snacks and pizza and ice cream with parties and going out for the holiday.  It could have been worse (I resisted quite a bit) but I'm still kind of surprised I didn't gain.  I went way over even maintenance on Saturday.  Here's looking for a better week this week.

Thanks :D  Sounds like you had fun!  Bonus on just staying in the same place.  I haven't started the Holiday things yet, but tomorrow night is the 1st T-day dinner. Hope I can maintain...

Any thoughts on making this a 2 (Mon/Thur) or 3 (Mon/Wed/Fri) times a week weigh-in to help get through the Holidays?  I thought about starting another thread but I kind of like this one :D

 I think that's a great idea!

And actually, we could maybe use a new thread.  The original poster from this one is long gone and it might attract a few more people.  I mean, I'm happy with the just 3 of us regularly posting too, but a few more wouldn't hurt either.  :)

 LoL! 1st T-day dinner already?! Oh boy.... I haven't started the holiday things myself yet but maintain won't be a problem for me since I'm still doing it somehow.

I'm a day late but weighed in today. I'm still maintaining! Smile Not exactly what I had in mind but better happy than sorry. I may not reach my December goal esp. with the holiday goodies coming up. I was really good for Halloween and only had 3 candies. I'll definitely have to keep going out there during the cold and wet days to jog because I have to maintain. And I still need to try to lose that spare tire that is being ever so stubborn!
