It's been a month...

and I haven't lost a pound.  27yrs old, female, 5'4", 216lbs, desk job during the day.  I used this website to guide me with caloric intake: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calc ulator.htm# ; since a lot of people suggested it was more accurate than CC.

Anyway, I do the zig zag thing, almost always have an A for my grade, walk 60min 5x a week, do HIIT training twice a week, and drink over 100oz of water a day.

I'm getting a little frustrated...  any suggestions?  Does anyone think 1700-1900 calories is too much for me? I feel like most people on here with similar stats to mine only consume around 1500 per day.

In a rut and could use some advice, thanks!

pchca,

well to be honest while I do agree with pgerogian I also know from experience that sometimes a month doesn't really do much... I had to diet for like 6-7 weeks at first, lost nothing, then in one week it all just started melting off... so idk the body can be tricky sometimes.... as long as you are eating less or at least cleaner and small portions than previously then you should see some results eventually.

My advice? At 5ft7 and 200lbs 1700-1900 is ok, but I think a good goal would be 1690-1740. Try to take in at least 100g of protein, 50g fat, and 100g of solid carbs (waxy maze, fiber, and lotsa veggies; few sugars or fruits).

And along with everyone else remember to weigh your foods... all too often people think that a portion of chicken (which is 4oz) is the size of a average deck of cards (or 1/2 ofa Foster Farms Chicken Breast). And generally prepared is 150 cals. So keep it in mind, all the tiny little things can totally throw off what you thought was a productive day.

Good luck to you, and I hope you are able to slowly shed it :)

You need to add some muscle to your frame.  Hit the gym, but instead of treadmills, you need to hit the weights.  Adding a couple pounds of muscle to your body will charge up your metabolism, and the weight will start dropping.
