please....doesn't anybody have any advice on how to get back on track?
There is no magic pill... the only way to get back on track is to make a commitment to yourself and follow through on it. You can do it if you decide it's what YOU want. No one else can do it for you. Once you jump in you'll find it's easy because you already know what to do... it's taking action and making the commitment that is hard. Write yourself a letter explaining all the reasons why you want to do this, all the reasons why you need to do this, all the reasons you HAVE to do this. Take them to heart and make the commitment to yourself!

Pick yourself up, brush yourself off and start!
Why have you fallen - what is it you are eating thats hurting - do you eat more at a specific time - what is the trigger etc...
Identify these one at a time, work on fixing the problem and you will be back on track.....

well, i think the whole falling thing is a number of things...my husband had been working out with me and then he started working alot of over time at work and doesn't have the time to work out with me anymore. plus during the day i have my two girls to take care of and then at night i want to spend the little bit of time we have together not working out. i know i need to start getting up in the morning before the girls and working out alone but i've just been putting it off.
sinse summer hit i've been eating things that i know aren't good for me too. food from the local fairs, cookout food, snow cones, you name that bad stuff i've been having it. it's just really hard to say no to summer favorites when you're watching everyone else eat them.
also my husband has to get up at 3am. i'm a night owl so i usually just stay up until i get him off to work and then i go to bed. well the time between the everyone else going to bed and the time i get him up (10pm-3am) i usually end up eating a whole days worth of calories. during the day i'm always on the move so i keep my self destacted from the food but at night it's just me and the kitchen!
okay, now that i've listed them i just need to figure out how to fix all of these promblems.

I remember you! and obs will, and slappy, but they're asleep right now! you can get back on track, really you can. The thing about the wagon is, it moves slowly enough to catch up, and there are plenty of people who'll give you a hand up. Last month doesn't matter, it's what you do today and tomorrow that counts!
I remember you! Good luck getting back on the horse!
okay i think i've got this figured out... what i need to do is start getting up before the girl get up for the day.
do my workout.
take a shower.
get the girls up for the day.
in the afternoon take the girls for a walk or out to play in yard.
when hubby comes home i can spend time with him and have dinner.
then go to bed earlier because i'm getting up earlier.
that takes away the chance to eat so late at night. which would keep me from going over my calories for the day.
okay! now i've a got a plan. now i just have to do it :P

thanks everybody. the plan goes into effect in the morning.so i'll hopefully be able to get back online in a few days and tell you how it's going.
How old are your girls? Would it help if instead of thinking "work out," you looked at "exercise skills for my children"?
My son once referred to me as the "athletic parent," which made me laugh (and still does! I'm a couch potato.), but it makes sense because I'm the one who tries to give him exercise skills for life. Most people don't play basketball or football in their 50s and 60s, so one of my goals as a mom is to give him skills in exercises people CAN do when they are.... well, about my age! :-D
Knowing that I am equipping him with skills he will have for the rest of his life helps motivate me to get out there with him to make sure he knows how to do these things!
Are your girls old enough to bikeride? Ice skate? Walk? Maybe pick a skill for them to learn each week and do it with them would be good motivation.

I remember you, too!!!! :)
The only thing you can do to make yourself feel better is get back on that wagon! It misses you....
Don't fret about the past few weeks. It's done.
All you can change is the future. I think your plan sounds great- and I bet the kids will love it too!

lacirrom, i remember you, too! a while back us "old-timers" were wondering about several people who seem to have "disappeared" for awhile. but how could you NOT come back??? this is the best place to be for support, motivation, good ideas, encouragement, all you need to get back on the "wagon." so glad you are back!!! hope that plan goes into action starting NOW!!! i've more or less stayed with my "plan" but you know what? i'm still learning new things. there will always be temptations--fast food--or like you said, summer fairs and such. but it's great that you can still have little treats now and then, and see progress anyway!
