I'm in that time of month... and this month I just started the pill. It seems as if I'm retaining more water than normal. I weigh a full 4 pounds more than I did 2 days ago. I gave into my doritoes craving yesterday, but would that have enough sodium to make me retain THAT much water. It's not like I ate the whole bag, I had the equivalent of one and a half servings. Could it be the pill that's making me retain more water? I really hope that it's just water weight.
What do you think?

Unless you ate 4 pounds worth of calories over the past 2 days, its probably water weight.
I've been averaging around 1500 - 1600 calories each day for the last week. Some days I'm more active than others,... the last 2 days not so active though.
well then its probably water weight..it happens.
Thanks!
Oh yes yes... my weight can go up and down by 3-4 lbs depending on the time of the month. I'm really sensitive to water retention... but as long as the trend goes down you should be okay.
The reason? The birth control pill tricks your body into thinking that you're preggers when your not, so you don't ovulate. Therefore your body will retain more water then normal (to form the amniotic fluid for the "baby") When you stop the pill for the week you have your period you're body will flush out the water.
Try not to weigh yourself just before you're on your period if you hate the scale.

Thanks ravenlark.
I'm going to try avoiding the scale when I'm on my period.
