Which has more calories: chicken or meat?

Answer
The calorie counts for meat and poultry depend on their fat content, which depends on the cut and grade. For instance, a chicken drumstick with skin can have more calories than an extra lean piece of round steak. But, in general, poultry has fewer calories than red meat and less artery-clogging saturated fat. "Select" cuts have the least fat and "prime" has the most. Lower the calories when cooking meat and poultry by trimming and skimming the fat and keeping the portions small. Read tips for choosing lean meat at About.com.
