5 More Pounds?

Quote  |  Reply

Hey I'm new on here but this seems like a really friendly website where people are helpful. So here is my first topic.

I'm 16, 6 feet tall, and 155 pounds. Pretty much my goal is to lose 5 more pounds, but I'm stuck right around 155. Does anybody have any ideas to quickly or healthily lose a stubborn 5 pounds?

I'm positive I can do it, but I just haven't found a way to do it. I was wondering if anybody else had a similar problem to mine and found a solution.

Oh and also I sometimes have those night binges (ice cream and peanut butter =/) So I was wondering if anybody also has a good technique to keep themselves from eating after dinner?

Please tell me about anything that has worked for you, or anything that you have heard works =]

Night binges, forever have been my problem. My husband and I have always giggled about this. I can eat perfect all day, I mean like every thing from the right amount of water to fruits and veggies and no junk. Then at night I would totally blow it because out of boredum or habit I would go to the kitchen and grab a snack. It is taking be so much will power to fight this right now. I haven't had a night craving in almost a week and the last one I had I drank a glass of water and ate a carmal rice cake. Hey, I know they aren't the best tasting but, they are more rewarding then blowing your whole day on ice cream.

How long have you been working on that 5 lbs. 6foot and 155 sounds pretty healthy. I think as long as you are eating healthy you shouldn't worry about it.  I know that at your age it can be hard. I remember in high school I was 5'8 and weighed 145 I thought I was a cow. All the girls around me were always talking about how much they weighed. I never stopped to think that all my friends were like 5'5 and 5'3. So do get to stressed over that last five. Keep up a healthy lifestyle to keep it off and thats really the most important thing right now.

hey! losing 5 pound? well it is easy! especially with ur not so heavy weight! all u nid to do is fill urself wit only fruits and water for a week and ur done! well, a friend of mine, nid to lose 2kg which abt 5 pound and all she did was to avoid oily food and rice... in a week, she is at her acceptable weight! BUt warning, dun get urself dehydrated or something!Laughing

Hey I'm in pretty much the same boat! I'm 21, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds. I have a really small frame and not muscular so I'm trying to get down to 145 pounds, possibly 140 depending on how I feel when I get to 145.

I Started out at 170ish and I've done the basics. Try to have a 500-600 calorie deficit between the amount you eat and burn and you'll drop those 5 pounds in a month.

Good luck and let me know if you'd like to have a buddy to help with motivation along the way!

Ohhh, tall girls! :-P  I'm 5'9" and this morning I weighed in at 150.5!  My goal weight is 143 and I have been trying to get there for over a year now.  My weight will not budge, except for when it shoots up...which happened last week.  Thank goodness it didn't stay long!  So, my advice would be (since you are at a healthy weight), to not focus on losing the pounds so much and focus more on toning and strengthening your muscles.  I got this advice when I posted my venting forum and it really made me think!  I would rather have nice strong lean muscles (which make you appear much smaller than having the same weight and being untoned) then be skinny and starving! :-P  And, if you look at it from this point of view...it is MUCH more noticeable to be toned then 5lbs lighter!  No one else will notice those 5lbs, but a nice set of biceps or a firm buttocks really stands out in a crowd!  Hope I've inspired you the way I was inspired! :-)  Good luck!

Good Point k-loo.. it is better to have the muscle than to lose five pounds that will probably go unnoticed. Besides I kind of have that lean muscular teenage build, so I think losing any more weight would mean losing muscle weight... which is bad lol.

And thank you to everyone else who posted with advice =]

Ah night snacking - the bane of my diet! Honestly, the only way I keep from doing it is to not have any junk in my house. I'll allow myself to cheat every so often, but if I have to get in my car and drive to the store to do it, chances are I'll think twice. Yes, I'm just that lazy lol.
