Last week I got up 5 days in a row and worked out before work.  I actually felt great going to work knowing I have already accomplished something for the day.  Well this week I haven't (I havent worked out this week b/c I wasn't feeling well but I feel a million times better and set my alarm last night for 6:00 to wake up and work out and I didn't get up so now I have to work out after work which I used to do all the time but the weather is getting nicer and I just want to get it out of the way).  I want to get up tomorrow and Friday and Saturday at 6:00 to workout but am scared because I didn't get up today.  Why is it that I could do it last week but not this week!  I am taking it easy the rest of the week; going to work out but not as high intensity.  I want to really start this on Monday getting up at 6:00 for my workouts (working out by 6:30.  Any tips on how to be successful at this.  Oh and by the way I don' t go to a gym.  I have dvd's at home that I do.  I go to bed early because I know I need to get up.  Maybe I'm getting too much sleep?  In bed by 10:30 and I try to get up at 6:00 so that's 7.5 hours but I end up sleeping until 8:00.  :(  I just don't want to fail!!

I tried to do the same every day and rest the weekend! I started working out again about two weeks ago, after a month of doing a whole lot of nothing!I weighted my self on Wednesday and I lost a pound yay! I will weight my self on Monday morning and see how I did after this long weekend! I work outed on Wednesday and I didn't work out on Thursday and I swam on Friday and I will try to get up on Saturday morning and work out! HAVE A HAPPY  AND SAFE 4TH OF JULY!!!

Hi everyone!!! Hope everyone had a good 4th!!?? I didnt work out this Monday morning but I walked almost 5 miles!

I had a great 4th but I'm so sore from all the boating!  I did not work out yesterday or today.  Planning on getting up tomorrow - Saturday for early workouts.  I just found out I have to go to a meeting Thursday at 7am which means I ahve to wake up Thursday at 4AM TO WORK OUT.  I am worried.  I really want to be able to do this because it seems like I am going ot have these meetings every Thursday at 7AM so Thursdays will have to be my early early days and M, T, W, F I can get up at 7 to work out.  Any tips on how to get up THAT EARLY.  I don't want to get too much sleep b/c I don't want to be overly rested.  I was thinking of going to sleep around 10ish tomorrow.  Help!!!!

Well I wish I can get a lot of sleep like you but I don't! I go to sleep like at 11 and get up at 4 but I don't start working out until 5! so I only sleep like 5 hour if I'm lucky b/c some day I can't go to sleep until like 1-2 in the morning!I didn't get up this morning to work out but I did my walking and running this evening! Maybe you should just skip Thursday and work out on Saturday? This way you don't have to get up that early and be tire the next day to work out! Did you try the alarm away from your bed so you will have to get up and turn it off?? If you do the alarm away from your bed, just have your work out clothes ready where it will be the first thing you see when you wake up! P.S.about been overly rested is good to get your zzzzz specially when you work out!Good luck!!!!!

good morning!! I hope you did your work out this morning? It was soooo hard for my to start working out this morning but I did it!!!! I list I have this work out, out of the way!

Thanks!  I was thinking about skipping tomorrow since it's so early but I am already planning on working out Saturday so if I skip tomorrow that's only 3 days this week and I want to get 4 in.  I move my alarm so I have to get out of bed but it's still by my bed; maybe I will move it farther away! :)

I got up this morning and did taebo.  It was difficult but once I got going it was great and I was proud of myself after!

I did it!!!!! I got up this morning at 4AM!!  I worked out from 4:20-5:20 on the elliptical and then showered, went to my meeting and now I'm at work!  It was tough, I'm not gonna lie!  But I'm proud of myself!  I was in bed at 8:50 and probably asleep by around 9:30ish.  :)

YAY!!!!GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Im happy that you did it!! I lost two more punds!!! YAY!! Im so happpy that I cant wait to do more excercise so I can loose more! Im so happy for you that you did it!! CONGRATS!!!!

I'm also trying to become better at waking up early in the morning,  in addition to extra exercise time,  I just feel like I'm much more productive on days I wake up early.

Two things that have worked for me in the past:

1.) Wake up at the same time every day.  It absolutely destroys my ability to wake up during the week when I stay up too late on the weekends and sleep in past noon.  This is one of my biggest issues right now, but I'm trying to get better at it.

2.) Practice.  This one is a little weird, but I've used it before and it worked wonders.  Generally, when you wake up in the morning, you have the same routine.  Alarm goes off, turn on coffee pot, shower, etc.  Whatever you do in the morning.

It helps a ton if you practice this, close the blinds, put on your pajamas, lay in bed, set your alarm for 5 minutes.  Try to make it as much like the conditions you'll be waking to as you possibly can.

As soon as the alarm goes off, jump out of bed, turn on the coffee pot, start the shower (I suggest stopping before you get into the shower for time's sake), or whatever else you do first thing in the morning.

Stop, turn everything off, lay back down in bed, and do the whole process again.

If you practice this 5 times a day for a week or so, it just become natural to turn off the alarm and start your morning routine.  It makes that initial getting out of bed much, much easier.

Those sound like great ideas!!  I got up this morning at 7 to taebo.  And for some reason getting up this morning was harder than getting up yesterday at 4!  I don't know why!  My fiance was so proud of me for getting up yesterday. He didnt' really think I would since i have had so much trouble waking up before.  But I am pretty sure that I am going to have to go to these meetings every Thursday and I don't want to miss Thursday workouts.  So at least now I know that if these meetings are going to turn weekly I can do it!  It's only once a week!!  So this week (I am working out tomorrow and purposely scheduled my dog's grooming appt for 8 to force me out of bed) I would have worked out only 4 days but all were in the morning!  Next week I'm aiming for 5 am workouts.  MWF Taebo Ultimate Bootcamp and TTH 60 minutes on the elliptical.

So I am going to a friends tonight and everyone wants pizza.  I LOVE pizza but am trying to stick to low carb.  Any tips?  I know I can eat before I go but seriously if it's in front of me I will cave!!!!  I was thinking of getting thin crust b/c at least that's less carbs but I don't know!  I had a Jimmy Johns "unwich" for lunch (basically they make the sandwich but wrap it in lettuce instead of bread).  It was sooooooo good!!!! Lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, turkey, bacon, mayo and mustard.  mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Jes

Anyone still here!!!  I got up this morning and did Ultimate Bootcamp!  I didn't eat the greatest over the weekend but I did get up and felt better on my way to work for doing it!!

Jes

I still weak up at 4 every morning and work out but I cant go walking in the evenings cuz I sooo tired I went to sleep at 8:30 last night  and I'm tired now and is only 7:30. Any ideas? what's wrong with me???
