i would love to hear this too..

i would love to convence my mother into switching to this stuff if its anygood because right now i hear hamburgers Frying in a pan of grease???????? haha . plus it might bring me back to the diner table because i kinda isolate myself at meal times because i dont eat what they eat.. lol
im a hugeeee fan of chik'n starters, kind of like little cutlets. you can eat 12 for like 140 cals which is awesome. morningstar is relatively 'au natural' but keep inmind, it is still a processed food. but i really like the portobello patties too :) def satisfying and good source of protein
Ash, why definitely no for weightloss?  If you log the calories, what's the difference?
The veggie patties are really low-cal and filling at 110 cals each, with less than 30% fat and 3g fiber. Great on the George Foreman.
mmm, i LOVE morning star sausage patties and morning star corndogs ... YUMMY!!
i'm sorry but i have to say, ash_loseweight is 13 years old who has been posting like crazy and probably doesn't know how to "diet" in a healthy way. but back to the post. i've tried the morning star meat crumbles and loved them. you can make  killer tacos with the fake beef crumbles and some la tortilla factory tortillas. i've only tried the boca burgers as for the veggie patties and they are good on a natures own wheat bun with all the fixings of a regular hamburger. i think that the veggie burgers are a great subsitute for a full fat hamburger patty but i wouldn't substitute for the chicken if you didn't have to.
ditto teenwolf : the morningstar veggie sausage patties and corn dogs are great! the chicken-esque items are just OK, but they will kill a craving for a spicy fried chicken sandwich for less fat/calories.
thanks for the replies!
i just had a veggie patty, and it was delicious.
not so thrilled with the 190-for-4 nuggets, but i never liked chicken nuggets much anyway.
ill have to try the corndogs!
yeah, i've heard the their morningstar's chicken imitation stuff isn't so great, so i haven't tried it myself.  make sure you try out the sausage patties (not the sausage looking ones, but the patties) as well as the corndogs - yum, yum!!  other than that they're a bit high in sodium, as all processed foods are, they're pretty darn good for you for how sinful they taste!  i like the sausage patties more than real sausages now.  as for corndogs, since i discovered those like 10 yrs ago, i haven't had a real corndog, so i no longer know how that compares.  nice that the veggie patty was good ... i may need to check that out sometime.
nah I'm tellin ya, the chick'n starters, not the nuggets, are not breaded and taste amazing in stirfrys or on a salad (think chicken caesar for vegetarians) or in a wrap! they are pretty low in cal too (12 strips for 140 cals)
The un-breaded stuff is the lowest calorie. The only downside of the morningstar stuff is the sodium. Make sure to drink LOTS of water to help flush it out. My grocery store started selling "quorn" and "veat" products too, which can be marinated like meat and grilled or stir-fried. The are pretty high protein and are a good change from the morningstar and boca stuff. I like variety in my meatless products :)

oooo I love morning star! I am not a vegetarian but when I eat this food it makes me a little bit nicer to animals. I personally love the hamburgers on the george forman as well. I also love the corndogs, sausage patties and I really like the buffalo wing flavored chik n' nuggets. My mom uses the meat crumbles for recipes, heres the one that i've tried that is really delicious!

No-Bull "Beefaroni"

• 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
• 1 garlic clove, finely chopped, or 1/2 tsp. minced garlic from a jar
• 1 tsp. vegetable oil
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 1 pound ground beef substitute (such as Morning Star Farms Recipe Crumbles, available in most large supermarkets)
• 2 cans condensed tomato soup
• 1 tomato soup can of water
• 2 tsp. sugar
• Salt and pepper, to taste

Cook the macaroni according to the package directions. Drain. In a large skillet, sauté the garlic and onion in the oil. Add the ground beef substitute. In a small bowl, mix the tomato soup with the can of water and the sugar. Add the soup to the "beef" mixture, then stir in the macaroni. Cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce boils and thickens a little. Season to taste.
Makes 6 servings.

p.s. my mom also puts a bayleaf into the mixture when it is simmering, without it it gets a little bland

I am not a vegetarian either and really enjoy Mornin Star products.

I really like thesausage patties too..they are great for some good protein for breakfast.  I also like the pizza veggie burger patties and spicy black bean patties too.  The corndogs are so good..but I don't have those very often, as they are not as healthy.  Yes, these products do have alot of sodium though.
I love Morning Star Farms products! I'm not a vegitarian (yet...) but their products almost taste better than real meat.  I absolutely love their Spicy Black Bean Burgers.

I'm no fan of hot dogs/corn dogs, but I can actually stomache and enjoy (shock, gasp) their corn dogs. Haven't tried the hot dogs yet, I'm sure they're just as tasty.

I'm a vegetarian and I LOVE Morningstar Farms!!  I actually had a Chik'n patty for lunch today.  I think their products are great for weight loss, because they are significantly lower in calories than their meaty realatives.  A great example is buffalo wings.  I love how their food tastes like meat, but really isn't :)
whoa lotsa responses!
i think im gonna have to try more of their products now =]
what about boca?
ive heard thats not as good?

i LOVE morning star. I tried boca burgers once and was so turned off by them that it took me some time before I tried the morning star products. I've been eating the original griller burgers and the chikn pattys for the past few days and it's so yummy. I mean a chicken sandwich for like 230 calories? (150 for the chikn patty and 80 for a wonder bread bun). YUM.

Boca burger = no

Morning star = mmm :)

sorry, had to pipe in here and say that everyone is right about the morningstar stuff... most of it is really good (and I too was turned off by some Boca products)  but the poster who talked about the sodium thing... really, watch out for that... we tend to fall into the trap of easy and low calorie,---and then eat them too often.  As an easy meal fix, yes, but I wouldn't eat them at every meal or everyday just because of the sodium... as always, fresher is better, but in a pinch, they are tasty!! (training for a marathon and sodium/water has been huge point of interest for me lately, and when I started retaining water, I figured out that replacing 1/2 can tuna or grilled chicken breast  with morningstar chix patties three or four days a week was increasing my sodium intake (540mg for one patty) (250mg for 1/2 can of tuna) (6oz chicken 120mg)...... that being said just be conscious of it....

Good luck!!

(and can we get someone to bring the price down on the products above????? that is probably why they aren't famous like chicken mcnuggets... because they aren't  $.99!!!!)

Good point amyb,

I wish the government would subsidize soy products like they do for meat and dairy. It would be so much more affordable to by veggie burgers by the pound!!!
When it comes to Boca, I'm really not a big fan.  This might be wrong, but I think Bocas are soy products and Morningstar Farms are veggie products.  As far as burgers go, I like Gardenburgers.  There are so many meatless options out there, you really can't go wrong!
