The most amazing (easy and fresh!) salsa!

Quote  |  Reply

I'm not even sure this can be called salsa, because it's not soupy our watery like others...but it's AMAZING.

To make a large batch chop and mix together:

2 cans of corn

2 cans of black beans

3 tomatos

3 avacados

1 red onion

and then use juice from 2-3 limes...

It's incredible! We had it on chicken tostatdas last night and it was amazing!

sounds delicous! I may try that and add some hot peppers :) thanks!

It does sound delicious!   I make pico de gallo all the time - fresh tomatoes, both sweet and hot peppers, red onions, garlic, cilantro, lime juice all chopped up fine and served fresh.  Yours is more interesting and substantial.

^^  I was thinking that adding cilantro to this one would be great...best of both worlds!

aaaa yes I just came back on here to add that, I totally forgot! Yes cilantro makes a world of difference...definetly use that!

Delicious!! Anything with those ingredients would be great I think! You could do so many variations to that basic recipe as well.

Here's a similar recipe for "Texas Caviar" made with black-eyed peas instead of black beans:

So good and good for you (just be careful working with those jalapenos!)

Hmmmm... your comment made me laugh because real salsa (AKA pico de gallo, Salsa Mexicana, Chimol) should NOT be soupy or watery...Laughing

The recipe sounds very yummy! will have to give it a try soon.. I usually add fresh ground cumin and black pepper to my salsa so I'll probably add some to this as well.. thank you for sharing!

Wow!  My girlfriend just had a Holiday party with some co-workers and one of them brought this very recipe!  My GF said "You have GOT to try this!!"  I did, and it was amazing.

Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Cool

MJ
