Your most embarrassing moment in the gym
One of the trainers there stopped, looked freaked out, and asked if I was alright. Most of the people in the gym were now looking at me.. :P
What was your most embarrassing moment?
when i fell on my head doing a pilates pose in a class. even the instructor was laughing. never went to that class again!
Was 18, dog tired coming out of the ring, tripped, fell over, knocked myself out on the floor.
Woke up two minutes later with one of my buddies, my trainer, and the girl I had been crushing on standing over me seeing if I was ok. Apparently while I was knocked out I was drooling all over myself too.![]()
I split my pants wide open during Tae Kwon Do. Even our evil, glaring Korean master busted out laughing. I wanted to die.
i was on the ellptical machine and had bad gas.
need i say more?

OFF TOPIC: did you find you like the martial arts? do you still do them? did you enjoy it? i hear the instructors in kickboxing talking about balance and blah blah...and i wonder if its something i should also try to invest in.
what should my fitness level be at before i begin? does it matter?
so.many.questions. :)
I was in pretty bad shape when I started TKD. I was overweight and hadn't been doing anything. A good instructor takes all of that into account and doesn't give you a heart attack the first day!
Anyway, I LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I did it religiously for three and a half years and did a lot of competing. The only reason I left (about 4 years ago) is I didn't have the time to commit anymore. I miss it. I was one bad ass chick. I love hitting and kicking people.

O_o*
Well, there's been a few; I'm 29 and the first time I stepped on a gym I was 15. Been on and off during the years.
The first that comes to mind was also splitting a pair of shorts while squatting.
There's also been a couple of time while bench pressing that during the last rep I couldn't pull it off and got trapped under the weight (No spotter).
Finally there was this time while also squatting --last rep-- I couldn't get it done and had to throw the whole thing off my back (barbell + plates), you can imagine the racket that caused. Lucky I didn't get injured that time, guess being 20 helped, if that happened to me now it would probably be a different story.
What's the moral? Always use a spotter when pushing your limits ... Oh and wear flexible-fabric clothing.
When I very first started I was working out with a friend, and this is back when I still had Chesticles (Manboobs, whatever you wanna call 'em).
We were just talking about how we needed to workout more, and and I said "Look at these things (grabbing my chest), like butter!"
Failing to realize I was talking over my iPod that obviously no one else could hear and these two girls were just staring at me with this appalled look on their faces.
I was working out and getting myself into a real sweat I was looking round wondering why other werent doing the same thinking that was the point and the instructer walked past me with two women he was showing round and said dont mind her shes doing her excersise all wrong but we will show you how to work out properly.
I could have died..
Also fall of the treadmill once before two went backwards and landed on my bum
The first time I took a spin class I was with a friend and it was a really hot day and for some reason the air conditioning was either not working or not turned on. Anyway, since I had never taken spin before, I chose a bike all the way in the back of the room. Halfway through the class I realized that my vision was becoming narrower and narrower and I was starting to get dizzy. I was about to pass out! So, I had to get up off the bike and run out of the class in front of everyone and sit on the front steps of the gym w/ my head between my knees. I couldn't leave because I had driven with my friend, who was still in the class. When the class ended every single person came out and asked me if I was ok. I wanted to crawl under the floor and hide. Needless to say, I never went back to that gym.
LOL!
Here are my two (hopefully the last two...)
1. was on the elliptical and thought the person that jumped on next to me had bad BO, after a couple minutes they jumped off, someone else replaces them...still smell it...could not figure out where it was coming from until I am the only person within a 20 foot radius - OMG - its ME!! I had stepped in dog poo and didn't notice until about 30 minutes into my workout and they all thought it was ME!
2. another vigorous workout session, this time on the stair mill and that REALLY makes me sweat - well everything makes me sweat. After 60 minutes I was drenched. I get off the machine to head up to the locker room and make the mistake of walking along the windows where the air conditioning vents are....needless to say - wet t-shirt, cold air, trainer's desk 10 feet ahead of me and serious case of high-beams with every trainer and their clients' just trying to control the giggles... now all my sports bras all have extra thick fabric...

Don't feel bad... I've had a similar experience with a stair stepper.... especially during those TOTM workouts...
also once I was watching someone else workout... (they had fabulous calves) and I was so mesmarized that I wasn't paying attention to the weight in my hand (I was doing bicep curls) and hit myself hard enough in the lip to make it bleed.... really stoooopid move!![]()
Did an hour on the elliptical. Got off and started walking and COLLAPSED, because my legs weren't yet ready to walk normally. Cute boy that I took an arithmetic class with saw it. xD
Also, my shorts became snagged on the bike and pulled straight down...luckily I had cute underwear on.
Dropped a 15lb weight on my foot in front of one of our American Football players...who happened to be in choir with me, who happened to enjoy telling embarassing stories about the rest of us choir obsessives to the rest...>.<'!
For some reason, whenever I do cardio, my body likes to decide it's a good time to fart. I just let them out (no one can hear it over the treadmill). It's rather entertaining looking out of the corner of my eyes at the people next to me to see their faces and if they can smell it. One time, I looked over, and the lady next to me had literally pulled her shirt up over her face. It's hard to laugh and run at the same time.
first time at a newly opened gym so everything was new. I had 25's on each side of the bar just to do some light reps but I forgot to put the clasp on. when I got to 15 my left arm went down a little so the 25 rolled off one side.....yeah you know the rest haha
