Most likely to have the fewest calories?
I was wondering (hoping) if anyone could take a look at this menu and help me decide what meal would most likely have the fewest calories. pretty please?? :)
here is the link:

i'm thinking the least calorific choices would be either the Scrambled Egg White or with Vegetables or the bran pancakes possibly? The thing with the scrambled egg white option is that it comes WITH pancakes so would it be a better choice to just go with the bran pancakes so I don't get both?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
and i'll be going with my entire extended family and they are definitely not into the "order this like this with this on the side" thing. In other words they order what is on the menu and leave it at that. (which makes it very uncomfortable when I don't do the same so i'd like to keep the special ordering to a minimum.
also, last thing i swear:) Out of the three side options, what is most likely to have the fewest calories- the three buttermilk pancakes, rice or the potatoes?
here is also a link to some pictures of the food, for reference of serving sizes and etc. http://209.216.121.111/v/photo_gallery/photos _oldlocation.html
thanks again to anyone who takes the time to help me.
I don't know if you're into this, but probably the best thing calorie (and nutrition) wise on there (other than just ordering a side of toast or something) would be the scrambled tofu and vegetables. That could actually be a really healthy low-cal meal, if they don't load it up with cheese and oil.
Or, if you think you can stand simplicity at such a jaunty place, maybe get the oatmeal? The oatmeal and a side of eggs or toast?
As for the side orders, you never can tell with those things unless you have the portion sizes right in front of you to judge by. I'd say the 3 pancakes will definitely add up to be the most calories. The rice and potatoes could potentially be about the same, but it all depends on size and how it is cooked.
So if you're into it, I'd say the tofu scramble or the oatmeal. Least likeliest things to be all junked up with crap.
Good luck!
If the special omelette really means you can do ANYTHING YOU WANT to the food, then go for that. Ask them to make it with egg whites and vegetables, too.
I'd say the side order whole wheat english muffin, side of turkey bacon, and just scrambled egg whites (with veggies if you'd like). That way you can build your own super healthy b-fast sandwich. I bet everyone will be jealous b/c it will be soo good :)
Mmm i'm liking that idea dplatzer, that way I could have an answer to "why are you getting all side orders? why not just get the 10 stack of pancakes with 500 calorie syrup?" :)
The oatmeal and the omelets sound good though too. uh oh i'm going to want to try everything!
Thanks all for posting though, that definitely helped me.
oh and p.s. sorry I accidentally posted this twice. The first time I posted it, it said it didn't work so I had to retype it up again and post it and then I saw that it did work. haha but sorry to be a double poster, I know how annoying that gets.
If it were me, I'd be choosing between the hot or cold cereal and the vegetarian omelet WITHOUT CHEESE though. I'd most likely choose the omelet. Remember to order no cheese if you want to be light on the calories, because even a vegetarian omelet can rack up to like 800 calories or more. They pile on all kinds of cheese to make it taste good. Not to mention, they put a lot of oil in it. I know that I Hop has a thing where you can get the healthier omelet that is made out of egg beaters so it's like 300-400 calories. At this place, you could maybe ask if they could and "make your own" omelete I guess...but if you want to play it safe, go for the oatmeal, and have them put all the added stuff on the side. :) GOOD LUCK
to be even more anal, you go with sides of boiled eggs, english muffin and/or oatmeal or your favorite cold cereal with skim milk. This way the oodles of fat added to your omlette will be spared. In some places I go to, I ask for the egg white omlette to be made in PAM spray and that generally comes out wayyy less greasier.
Enjoy the brunch!
and oh- the side of potatoes, you can substitute that with fruit or salad. those yummy potatoes sure pack in the cals :(
