1/2 cup 0% Fage yogurt - 60 cal

1 teaspoon honey - 20 cal

a little bit of splenda (this can be left out or replaced with more honey- 0 cal

1/3 cup High Fiber Cereal (I get the trader joe's kind) - 40 cal

2 tablespoons of Bob's Red Mill Whole Ground Flaxseed Meal - 60 cal

altogether - 180 calories.

And it sustains you! You stay full.

I really really recommend the Flaxseed Meal!! It's so delicious and so good for you and makes yogurt and cereal a lot more interesting. It's super high in fiber. Just two tablespoons of flaxseed meal delivers 4 grams of fiber, as much fiber as 1-1/2 cups of cooked oatmeal! (I am copying this little flaxseed article right off the bag fyi) Studies suggest that when flaxseed meal is added to the diet, harmful LDL cholesterol drops, while good HDL cholesterol stays put. And regularity (yay!) improves also.

Flaxseed also contains high levels of natural antioxidants called lignans. The lignans in flaxseed can bind with circulating substances that might promote unchecked cell growth. Many plant foods have some lignans, but flaxseed has at least 75 times more than any other. To get the lignans that are in 2 tbsp flaxseed meal, you'd need to eat about 30 cups of fresh broccoli.

Also, one serving of flaxseed meal contains 2400 milligrams of omega-3.

Should you consider adding flaxseed meal to your diet? "Absolutely" say many doctors and nutritionists.

So. flaxseed rules!!!!!!! get some!!! I swear, it's really tasty, and nutty and adds great texture to yogurt!

also, Fage yogurt isn't necessarily the healthiest, but it is very very tasty. I'm gonna try some goats milk yogurt next. I hear that's real good for you?

I take some fat free plain yogurt in a bowl, mix in some whey protein powder and a bit of stevia for sweetness, mix in some berries, whatever you have on hand, top with your favourite crunchy cereal ( I usually use something called Heritage O's a Cheerios type of cereal made with several whole grains), sprinkle on a few pumpkin seeds or your favourite nut,  and then drizzle on a tsp or so of honey.  Then put it in the freezer for about half an hour and it gets really really cold, partly frozen if you leave it long enough...delicious!!!

this isnt the most filling thing in the world but its one of my new faves:

i have always hated plain yogurt (i have a sweet tooth and it always tastes so bitter) but when i started eating healtier, i wanted to give it a try to get away from the chemicals in the tasty yoplait variaties.

i recently tried a half a cup of mountain high fat free plain yogurt with a tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of brown sugar. its about 140 calories and definitely helps me with my mid afternoon sweets cravings!!! my fiance even likes it!

Ravinnah, do you know about Stevia?  It's an all natural plant extract with zero calories that's 200 times sweeter than sugar.  It takes a bit of getting used to but not so much say as artificial sweetener.  It has a bit of a licorice type of taste but it is really sweet and a little goes a long way.  A small bottle the size of an aspirin bottle contains 900 servings and replaces 13,500 calories of sugar.

I like the tartness of plain natural yoghurt - no honey, sugar or sweeteners for me.

yeah, stevia's great! your yogurt whey protein powder thing sounds amaaaazing.
