How do I get my mother to buy healthy foods?

My mother buys lots of snack foods and fast food. Lately, she's been doing somewhat better, but I really want to have healthy food around so I can lose my weight easier. I exercise, but it isn't going to do much without following my diet.
Answer
People who don’t eat healthy foods may not know what foods to buy. Be clear about the items you want by brand name and size, give your mother with a short detailed list, and accompany her to the store if you can. Keep the family budget in mind, and then actually eat the food so she can see that you are serious. Another option is to shop by yourself or with a friend. To make communicating with mother easier, read Weight Loss Confidential: How Teens Lose Weight and Keep It Off - and What They Wish Parents Knew by Anne M. Fletcher - and ask your mother to read it too.

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
