Don't panic!

You'll be fine... just eat in moderation.  Take 1 plate... put stuff on it.. and do not go back for seconds.   You should be fine and probably will end up eating closer to mainenance that day.   It shouldn't be a big deal at all :)
My mom suggested that I bank my calories durring the week by not eating my full amount for the day with out going below 1200 and than eat light that day so I could enjoy the cook out.

What do you think?
Just relax and enjoy it! One day eating maintainence calories won't hurt. It may even help. Do you zig zag your calories? I've been doing it and it seems to work. I've finally lost a couple of pounds.

I would just keep doing your diet as you are doing.   That morning just have a smaller breakfast and then that evening have a snack and then eat well at the lunch.

You've seen plenty of reasonable portion sizes at this point.   A burger is not as big a deal as it seems... and if that's what you are having then have yours on whole wheat and it'll easily be below 500 calories... even for something fat and juicy.

Just don't go hog wild.   Budget yoursef round 800 calories and forget whatever you go over.

See with this diet 1 day is only 500 to 1000 calories towards your next pound being lost.   If you eat mainenance one day that just sets you back a day in the journey.

Avoid the chips and that stuff.

Eat whatever vegies are there and a good piece of bbq (or whatever the cookout has).

You'll be fine.
Prepare a couple of calorie consious dishes yourself.  If nobody is bringing them, do a veggie and fruit platter too.

Choose the low calorie dishes first, then take very small portions of just the things you really love.  That way you won't be too hungry and you won't feel deprived.  Drink only water.
You can be sneeky!  Have people bring things and fill in the 'gaps' with your own personal mini menu.  Then if you really wanna try something that someone else brought, say 'ohhhh that looks good, how'd you make it' then by the list of ingredients they give you, you can see how caloric it is. :)

Try to save a good amount of your calories for the dinner.  Eat a small breakfast lunch and snack, and for dinner you wont feel so restricted. If I'm having dinner that I didnt cook, I save 700 of my calories for it (out of 1200)
Thank you everyone..............This really help.
