Hey everyone. I see us Illinoisans are slacking on keeping this group active so I am stepping up to try to help.
I propose that since it is the beginning of the new year that we try to keep each other motivated with our weight goals and exercising. We are all trying to battle very similar culprits and lets face it, there is strength in numbers. We'll need strength to get through these battles. I'll start...
I've had some success with my weight loss but with the holidays behind us and my brave self - I stepped on that scale for the first time in weeks and I was met again with reality. I have gained some weight over the holidays. I hadn't even met my overall goal yet and here I am gaining back already. Go figure. Why dwell on it when I can change it? I'm back on my bandwagon and will be logging in my CC food journal religiously. I will be logging my exercises/cals burned and I will be drinking my water.
Whoever wants to help keep yourself accountable please join me. My hope with this thread is for everyone who joins to come on here at least once a day and tell us of your accomplishment for the day. Remember, an accomplishment is something you did today to help you toward your goals. All it takes is one accomplishment at a time!!!
Gumby! Yeah! I loved Gumby! hee hee what a great instructor he will be :)
Well, this weekend I worked out Sat. and did my a mellow yoga session this morning but as far as calories are concerned with Mother's Day and my Bday...it all went down the drain lol! Oh well! Pick back up tomorrow with a good, hard work out and some yard work. What a crazy week last week was. I don't even know where it went. insanity I tell ya.
happy mother's day Val!
hope all is well with everyone. Have a great monday!
Peace Out.
Jamie
Hey guys!!
My race on Saturday...O M G!!! The course description said there were a couple hilly parts...yeah, they should've said there were a couple flat parts. It was almost ALL HILLS!!!! I was dying!!! As was a few other runners I was keeping pace with here and there in the race. We'd get off of one hill, looked ahead just to see we were about to go up another. Needless to say my time sucked...39:28. That, I will say, was THE toughest race I've ever run. I'm also thinking because of just that...that I will have to prepare to do it again next year. I am sore in every part of my body.
How was your yoga Jaime?
How's golf going Bill?
Happy belated Mothers Day!!!
And Happy Birthday Jaimie!!! I hope the swami will be a source of inspiration for your yoga routines.
Good job on the run Val. I played golf down south on Saturday and the wind was brutal. Felt like February all over again. Wind and hills makes for a tough run - it takes a lot to tough it out. Way to go!
Have fun!
Hey all!
Thanks for the birthday wishes! Val, hope you recooped from your race and enjoyed mother's day. What's new Bill? Flying around America somewhere still?...
Well, I finally was able to workout today after a brutal week of battling this weird flu/cold virus thing. Yuck. Still hasn't completely left but soon hopefully. I felt like I haven't worked out in like a month - 9 days really but sheesh. I was almost having a panic attack lol - ok maybe not that bad, but I really was missing my workouts. Hopefully I can regain my momentum fully by the end of the week. So, I got into a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to fit into since last October. Additionally, I just for the heck of it, tried on a jacket I bought hubby for Christmas (totally couldn't zip it) and I was able to zip and there was even room. Yeah for me. On to the next challenge, losing anonther size by the end of August. I know it's doable. I may even exceed my goal! Who knows? :)
So, what's everyone else up to? Must be having fun now that the weather is nice?...

Hi Jaimie.
I'm glad you're feeling better. Sounds similar to what I had a month or so ago -- it took a while to get back to full strength.
No travel plans 'til early June -- San Diego -- business. But I like Chicago in the summer. Lots of fun stuff to do!
Enjoy!
