Maybe we can all keep motivated by talking and discussing our strategies at keeping on our healthy lifestyles. Post your motivational methods below:
theres always tomorrow!
im a happy healthy, NORMAL, 15 year old, i have my whole life ahead of me with people around me who love me and forgive me whether im fat, i binge but become concerned if im thin, so i should just look after myself!
To have a full life with lots of interests, friends, direction
To feel strong and to have no more physical health problems and to help the ones I have
To feel better about myself and to be more confident
I am trying to stay in the day since I am a worrier and focus on what I have to do today to be healthy
I remind myself of why I am doing this:
- To teach my kids how to eat healthy in a normal life, so they don't have the problem I have. I emphasize eating healthy and exercise, not dieting.
- To have the energy to play with my kids and do the housework I haven't been doing.
- To look like someone who isn't lazy.
And of what I have already done:
- I keep track of my weight, weighing daily. Every week, I average that week and put it in a chart that analyzes my BMI and body fat percentage.
- I measure myself weekly, and put it on a graph, so I can see how much thinner I am getting.
- I keep a workout log, so I can see how much stronger, healthier I am.
- I keep an eye on my food log analysis, so I can see how much healthier I am eating.
It gives me such a feeling of accomplishment to be able to plan out and stick to my caloric intake for the day. Years of binge and overeating- and now, theres a ray of hope.
Just logging daily and seeing how things have changed for me over the years motivates me!
My friends on CC REALLY keep me motivated and supported.
The calm reealization that one weak day does not mean instant failure- thats rewarding.
Compliments about my new looks or feeling my clothes get looser.
The feeling of finally being somewhat in control of how and what I eat.
By counting calories and eating healthy, i obtain a sense of control. The rest of my life may be beyond my control, but demonstrating to myself that i can control what i eat is a big deal for me personally(cause i love snacking!) This just prove to me that i am capable of self control.
Also this helps:
"New changes I have adopted:
- make small reachable goals
- focus on the change, not the goal
- my negative past performance does not predict what I can do
- don't let emotions get to me
- make excuses--then get on with it
- every effort counts (it is one thing I didn't do yesterday)
- reconize small improvements"
reminding myself how good i'll feel the next morning if i've done well today.
