I've lost my motivation. I'm trying to get it back. I started seriously losing weight in january, joined Weight Watchers, walking every day. Then in July it got Hot, very hot in Texas.I quit walking. Quit going to meetings. Quit journaling.Just quit. So now here I am a new member of C-C, hoping to get some motivation back in my life. I've maintained the 23 pound lost from January until July but I feel myself slipping further away from my goal and I have so far too go 112 pounds that I still need to lose.
Any ideas of how to get my mojo back?

cece you made the first and most important step by posting here on the forums. it's a holiday weekend, so there's not too much activity at the moment, but you are sure to find lots of support here for all the things you need to do to get healthy!!
start by taking a walk early tomorrow morning. enter everything you eat into your food log, and start looking for healthy lowfat things that you like to eat! and be sure to feed your body all day long with small healthy meals! most important, i think, make sure your analysis pie chart looks like 50% carbs, 25% or more protein, 25% or less fat calories. it took me many weeks to figure out my best eating patterns, and i'm still changing things around.
i don't use my "journal" much, but i'll add you as a friend, and if you want, you can post in your "journal" and get comments from your friends.

Hi Cece!!
I am happy that you are trying again and not just giving up =D
I know is really hard to but it does get easier with time. What Elin said is true, it will take you some time to find your low cal food but it will be a life change and the percentage of protein, fat and carbs works wonderfully! the analysis part of your log is my best tool to measure that..
Keep it up !!!!!

Hi, Am pretty new to CC and don't think I've lost my motivation, but can't seem to find it. It's somewhere in my head, but not connecting to my feet to get my butt out there and walk. I know weight loss is easier when you exercise, but something is missing. I wind up making excuses as to why I can't get out first thing in the morning and just do it. Any encouraging words?
Hi CeCe We all need motivation.. my mom died and I coulld eat everything in sight so I try to post ALL food and eat most calories before 5. I also find I need my "sweet" each day so I just count on it MY favorite now Skinny Cow.. Keep pluggin .. my mom said when she stopped trying at 65 or 70( she lived until 91) she shouldn't have !just trying keeps you from gaining and that is a plus... take care bmw
Hi CeCe! Hey, you kept off what you lost! That's a good accomplishment. Bring your skills from WW to here - record everything you eat. Weight and measure until you really understand what a portion looks like. Peek in here whenever you need a lift... and join us in the hard work, made easier with support.
you may add me as a friend if you like.

Hi jsevans,
I totally understand you, I think the best way to motivate yourself and push you to get your butt up and excercise is buying a dress or pants you really like and would like to fit into or digging up a picture where you think you look really bad cus of you weith. I actually have one in my refrigerator door. Another thing would be cutting a picture of someone that has the body you would like to have.. that help me a lot.. so hopefully it would help you.. ;)

Thanks to everyone for their words. I do use pictures as a motivation tool. One of how I looked 20 years ago (those were the days my friends) and one of me now! Really does help to keep me up and moving and away from the fridge.
Stress is hard on me, I currently am the primary caretaker of my Mom who is a dialysis patient and has other health issues, somedays the stress is unbelieveable, but I am trying really hard to focus on the good things and not eat just because its a bad day.
I love the nutritional grading system , today so far I have an A-, I'm excited!

cece,
Here is what I did. I took a regular calender and after each day I would rate myself from 1-10. Getting a 10 would mean I had a great day by exercising and not eating anything that causes me to gain weight. If I had a couple cookies i might give myself an 8. Of course a completely bad day would be a 1. I was suprised that I never really got a 1, I came close, but it never happened. Then when i looked back on the calendar I could see that I had more positive days than negative. This really helped my perception of myself. iAnother thing that I started to do was listen to my iPod. If you have an iPod or mp3 player try visiting this website: www.headboost.com they have motivational speeches that are short and encouraging, You can also create what they call an audio headboost and record your goals over the phone, then they send it back to you as an mp3 file so you can hear them anytime you want. Well, hope that helps. remember to believe in yourself. Also, my wife and live in Chicago and are thinking of moving to Austin, Texas. Any recommendations?

Great idea about the calendar. I will start one today. I .m not techie enough for Ipod or mp3 player but that is a grat idea. Guess I could talked my neice into doing it for me.
Austin, Texas is a great place to live. I'm about 60 miles south but did work in Austin for several years. Great shopping, resturants etc.
