What is YOUR motivation???
Ok, so I was running the other day with my husband, who is really fit. As I crossed this really not so stable looking bridge over the river, I though "how terrible if it broke right now"....then I realized my husband would be much more likely to be able to hold on to something and pull himself up. In a normal situation (without the adrenaline of danger) I cannot pull or push my own weight...Soooo...I will use that as MY motivation:
- the new HEALTHY me is much more likely to survive if caught in a bad situation. Heavy me won't achieve that, and a crash diet, not eating, malnourished me wouldn't either, or a skinny me without workout either.....
Call me weird, but it's working for me....so, please share what is motivating YOU!!!
my motivation are so many..but top 2 are :
Wanna fit in my old cloth (size 10)..wanna walk with high confidence !
Health and family thats the motivation.
My motivation is happiness - I know I'll be happier if I can achieve this goal. It's one less thing for me to 'rag' on myself for. It also says a lot about my character - my ability to stick to something.
i don't want to end up disabled from a stroke, like my mom. she didn't feel the need to exercise because she was always thin (cooked and ate like a dietician. a healthy dietician).
that was my initial motivation (well, that and the fact that being fat made me feel like a loser). now, fitness is its own reward ![]()
to fit into my clothes again!
my motivations are:
fitting into all my clothes comfortably and feeling like i look gooood
- To feel great in my own skin and look good in my clothes
- To avoid the type 2 diabetes diagnosis that runs in my family
being healthy, energetic and pretty
I'm fighting my own mediocrity, and hell if I'm going to lose.
I want to be stronger, healthier, and feel comfortable in my own skin too. I, too, worry about the inheritance of diabetes. I want to get my waist under 35 inches (so close! 35.5!) to drastically reduce my risks for many health issues. I had wanted to get under 200 (which I now have) and into a size 12 (which I now am) so now I'm shooting for 140. Lower than I can remember being ever....and with muscle! For the first time in my life I feel muscle! Wow. My confidence has been increasing. IT is go great. Doing so great thus far is motivating me to keep it going.
....with a little help from my CC friends too!

ME TOO. You have no idea.
I want to fit into my old wardrobe again, I have fantastic clothes that I can't wear and I refuse to buy anything else at my current size. I'll be going nekkid soon if I don't keep this up! I want good health for a very long time, I want my knees to hurt less, I want to see my old friends back home again, who haven't seen me since I've gained the weight, probably the biggest motivation! The surprise in their eyes would be so depressing.
Gotta get down into a healthy weight range, pure and simple.
My motivation is somewhat different.....I mean yes, the fat jokes and everything are getting tiresome, but I have a bad ankle and knee. Both have ligament damage, and the ankle is starting to show early signs of arthritis. So if I can drop a hundred pounds or so, then there is less stress on everything else
Let's see, at first, when I was overweight, it was to get fit and healthy and feel better and look better. Now that I am at a healthy weight and level, I still want to tone up more and look better and lose that last little belt of fat around my mid-section (I wonder if that desire to do more will ever go away? Do you ever stop feeling like you'll wake up one day only to find yourself overweight again? Do you ever feel like you FINALLY reached your goal?) But I watched the Terminator movies recently, and I seriously now just want to be tough and athletic like Linda Hamilton (how fun would it be to be a guerilla fighter against those robots!!! I so pretend in my head that I'm running after them, or from them, when I'm on the treadmill!), and yet I still also want to look feminine and sexy for my wedding and honeymoon, and afterward.
My biggest motivation is to be healthy. I don't want my daughter growing up with the same weight issues I've had, so my goal is to be healthy by the time she's old enough to notice. If I'm healthy and already have the knowledge I need I think it will be easier to teach her healthy habits from the start.
I want women to look at me with lust, men to look at me with envy, and, most importantly, I want to look at myself with respect. ![]()

It is funny when you look back at it...but not when it happens. I was once told ON thanksgiving day that I should know not to smoke when I am preggo....Well, I knew that, but was not pregnant...and about 5 kg lighter than I am now..so about 68kg at 171cm which is not crazy big at all....People are just stupid!
