Hey everyone,
I was hoping some of you out there could give me inspiration towards losing weight.
Right now, I am 5"6 and 166 pounds, medium frame (according to the wrist technique). My goal is to get to 145 pounds.
What are some of the motivators that kept you going? What inspired you to keep going?
Any/all feedback and answers are appreciated!
My primary motivator was wanting to eat healthier and BE healthier!!!

My motivators were to get healthy, and to feel comfortable in my body....and to get to like shopping! (it's just so annoying when you don't like your body and have to look at yourself in mirrors about 40 times during half an hour... ;/) (it's even more annoying when you can't fit in the clothes you like, or that it does not suit you because you have what I call a "muffin top" (fat on the hips that gets stuck in between the low rise jeans and the shirt...)).
But, above anything else, I wanted -and still want- to feel healthy. I've lost 20 lbs since I joined CC in September, and never felt so well! I'm happier, less tired, I sleep better, feel better, and have more energy to go out, study, or simply enjoy a cozy evening with my prince charming :).
And what keeps me motivated is the amount of time and will I put in losing these pounds. Of course I sometimes didn't want to exercise...and it would have been way easier to stay in front of t.v. or read a book, but I would -never- go back in time, to my 162 lbs self, and sedative way of living. It just feels so good to be healthy, to be eating healthy, and to see the results.
I now know what it means to enjoy life to its full potential. :) At least, I know I'm enjoying it more than I used to... : )
My initial motivator was to look better in my clothes. After I began to exercise regularly it became such a habit that i didn't need any motivation. It probably took about 2 months before getting up and exercising became automatic. Stick with it in the beginning and it will get easier!
After a few lbs and my muffin top jeans became lose and now sit on my hips. Ive had loads compliments from friends who i havent seen in ages. Even going to the gym at 7am becomes fun as then you can have a smug smile on your face all day knowing that youve already burnt the food you are consuming.
You have the exact same stats as me! My goal is 137lb but thats way far off! I am someone easily de-motivated, which means I don't lose weight. Then I'll go through periods where I'm desperate to lose the weight, but it won't last long :(
My biggest motivation would have to be my friends... everytime we go shopping, its awful being the only one who gets L and XL when they're complaining about how S is too big. They're fully supportive and always tell me things look flattering but it still stinks you know? I keep telling myself that one day I'll be able to go into a mall and try on anything without feeling self-conscious or having to root around for the largest size!It's really awesome to hear your guys' responses because I have felt the same way as all of you guys!
Especially, lyra, about going to the mall and being the only one who gets L or XL. I completely feel ya on that one!
