Motivation! Reasons to Gain
Just an idea I had :)
We all post our reasons to gain weight, all our reasons why we don't want to be skeletal or underweight or whatever. I'm starting recovery, I won't go into detail, but this could help me/others with the psychological efforts in gaining weight. I find the emotional stress one of the main problems with gaining, the guilty feelings you get when eating something high cal etc.
Here's some starters!
- I won't have to wear thousands of layers everytime I go out!
- I can enjoy going out because I can wear the clothes I WANT to wear, not just the few clothes that fit me that I'm restricted to.
- My friends and family will be proud and won't worry .
- I won't have nosy people in all my classes demanding to know if I eat or not.
- People won't look at me in the street and feel sorry for me or look at me strangely
- I'll have so much more energy :D
Post some more :)

OMG...........DOLLY WHY HAVNT YOU GONE TO THE ER!!!!!?????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????? THIS IS SO NOT RIGHT!
My motivation for gaining weight is that I'm going travelling, it's my way of getting confidence and finding myself and pushing myself to my limits.
So being a healthy weight:
- will make me stronger and less likely to get ill or become run down
- means the special travel gear I have to wear will fit me!
- give me a layer of blubber so don't have to take double the amount of clothes my friend is taking (for cold places)
- stop me obsessing (hopefully) over food
- give me perspective eg if I see people starving because they have no money not because they want to be a size zero
- people will stop looking a me when I tell them I'm going to cold places and making comments about my weight
- people will stop making comments about my weight full stop
- I can be happy in my own skin for me
Hello again Dollymixtures. How about.... you'll live rather than die? But only if you do the sensible thing and get yourself to a doctor. Attempting to refeed when someone is sub 75lbs could be fatal without medical supervision. That's why you 'won't go into detail' because you know what response you'll get.
You don't need motivation to gain weight dollymixtures, you need motivation to go to the hospital. The psychological effort you need to tap into is the one that allows you to drag yourself out of denial and into reality. Your life is at stake.
thank you gi jane........man what is it gunna take?
please dolly just go to the dr!
