There are some wonderful motivational perks to losing weight....list your favorite perk and remind someone how fantabulous this process is!!!
- easier to paint your toenails w/ polish (courtesy of a friend)
- much easier to cross your legs
- can go up a flight of stairs w.out getting winded
- you can zip up your jeans w/.out laying down on the bed (courtesy of a friend)
You get the picture....now what is YOUR favorite perk?
oh baby! isn't that the truth?
perks for me.....
- feeling HOT in my skin and in clothes, well, errr, without too.
- wanting to eat healthy, enjoying the better for me food and knowing it is good for me too......
- WANTING to go jog or ride the bik or walk or lift weights. feeling strong and powerful because I can.....
For me so far...
- Fitting in clothes again that I'd grown out of.
- The best part is feeling more spry.
amen to things fitting again ..... my wardrobe spans from size 8 to size 26.....
I wore the last month pants I haven;t seen since 3 years ago --- size 9's...
YAY!!!!
-sweating less
-not being obsessed with what others are thinking about me
-not having to waste an hour getting dressed in the morning because everything I put on makes me feel gross.
-saving big bucks by hardly ever eating out and just eating less generally
-fitting through small spaces
-small=use less sunscreen and it's easier to put on everywhere
-being able to wear smaller shoes (ones that normal shoe stores carry).
-knowing that I can count on my body and that it will not let me down
My favorite -
It is amazing to sit down and immediately start talking to someone/doing what I'm there to do WITHOUT rearranging my clothes (waistband, shirt bottom, cardigan, etc) to make sure they're covering/corralling my rolls in the best possible way. And like pumpkin said, getting dressed in 1 try each morning.
It is so great to be able to forget about my body when it is not the focus of what I'm doing.
And when it *IS* the focus of what I'm doing (ahem...), that's better too. ![]()
BRAVO, pumpkin!! ( :
I especially like the fitting in smaller places..... I am a teacher, and now i just squeeze through people and behind them and I do not worry about accidentally bumping someone's laptop off the desk with my big butt. : P
I like this thread.
EDIT to comment on new post. YAY FOR NOT REARRANGING> me too....
Here's a few:
- Watching the notches in your belt get smaller until you need a new, SMALLER belt
- Realizing the pants you just put on were ones that didn't fit two weeks ago
And one that's more for when you're being especially good with your diet:
- Being able to have that extra piece of cake/cookie/other indulgent treat and not feel bad about it
