Can anyone tell me effective moves or exercises that will help me loose inches off my hips, quickly? Unfortunatley this is the largest part of my body! ![]()
Thanks so much - M
If you really want to lose the inches, you need to concentrate on your diet first and foremost. Are you doing that?
If you're paying close attention to your diet, pretty much any exercise you do will help reduce your hips.
Yes. I've cut all alcohol, soft drinks and I am keeping my calories between 1200 to 1400 daily. I am trying not to eat past 7pm. I just need to work out more but I have a foot injury at the moment that I am hoping will correct itself quickly so I can start walking and move into running. I am trying to loose and sculpt as much as possible in the next 7-8 weeks as I have an event coming up.
Thanks

Lift weights and maintain a reasonable calorie deficit, 1200-1400 is too low for a lot of people.
Pilates! Get a book that includes a four week plan of exercise and you will se a reduction in inches provided you keep an eye on what you eat. It's not strenuous and you can do it while watching TV!
Running. If you don't already run, start with walking and building up to a jog and then jogging continuously for ten, twenty, thirty mins at least 3 days a week. It helped me. It's not something that can be done quickly but I think you can see some kind of results within your time frame.
I have a hard time wrapping my head around the concept of "not strenuous" and "effective exercise" in the same sentence. Unless the sentence is supposed to be "exercise that is not strenuous is also not effective".
Of course, I also have a hard time wrapping my head around Pilates as effective exercise in a weight loss context - it has its uses, but it's not goal-approriate training for fat loss.
Neither is running unless you're doing interval training; steady state cardio is also not goal-approriate training for fat loss. It does not improve on the results you you can achieve with diet alone, so while it is appropriate training for a lot of goals it's not neccesary for fat loss.
Don't get me wrong, when running or biking you get to eat more, which can be helful in and of itself. But there's no difference in the quality of fat loss if you expend 500 calories through steady state cardio or just don't eat them in the first place.
Strength training radically improves your results and leads to significantly greater fat loss than cardio does - again, assuming dietary intervention. Absent a calorie deficit, there's pretty much nothing exercise can do for you in terms of fat loss.
A fitness instructor at my gym always tells us that jumping rope is very effective in trimming the hips....
Which foods are high in both fat and calories?
