Movie suggestions?
So I'm home, alone, bored on a Friday night. I was thinking of streaming a movie online (don't have TV), and wanted to know if anyone has a suggestion for a worthwhile film. Any genre will do, except maybe dude movies (lots of explosions and half-naked women are not so much my deal, lol)
I watched Seven Pounds last night and I can't stop thinking about it. I was really moving. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0814314/
If you want to go move comedy, one of my semi-recent favs is Pineapple Express. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910936/
Hope your night improves!
The bad news is I've already seen both of those, but the good news is you have really good taste! I really have to agree with you that Seven Pounds was absolutely phenomenal.
How funny! Hmm, well another that I can't vouch for yet, but have heard great things about is The Wrestler. I'm going to watch that one tonight.
Or, I watch a sweet Sam Mendes one the other weekend "Away We Go". Not too serious, just enjoyable. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1176740/
Any joy?
How about "Sunshine Cleaning"? 2 sisters go into the crime scene clean-up biz.
Oooh the above recommendation for "Away We Go." Definitely recommend that one.
Everyone I brought to it adored "Paper Heart." A fake-umentary about what love is. Michael Cera, can't go wrong.
Speaking of Michael Cera, I really love "Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist." a fun, all-nighter chasing the mystery location of this obscure local band.
For funny - "I Love You, Man." Paul Rudd is always adorable.
Some recent faves of mine are:
Match Point - Okay, I'm not a huge fan of Scarlett Johannson or Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Woody Allen... but for some reason, in this movie, these three just come together in that totally perfect and moving way. Really, really good.
Repo! The Genetic Rock Opera - Very, very stylized. One of those you either love it or hate it kinda of movies. I personally loved it, the people I've recommended it to were all 'O_o'
Sharkwater - GREAT documentary, whether your passionate about the seas or not.
30 Days of Night - Really, really good vampire film (no sparkling, I promise :P).
Treasure Planet - Yeah, the Disney animated movie. I'm not sure why, but I really liked it. If you were a Disney fan as a kid and you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend it.
Thanks a bunch! Now that it's getting close to midnight, I think I'll snuggle up with my computer and pick one of these movies :)
I don't know who you have for the streaming, but if they have it, and you have the time (very long movie) storm of the century by stephen king.
Or if they don't, how about every which way but loose (I am streaming it now) ![]()
PS.
Has anyone bought the Roku to stream the movies on your TV? I have been thinking about getting one so I can watch it on the 42" screen instead of 15" computer monitor.
where are you streaming these movies from???
More good movies for your list:
Mindhunters - suspense/thriller
Seven - thriller
Ocean's 13 - comedy (always good)
Fern Gully - animated
Feivel Goes West - animated
Spaceballs - comedy Untraceable - thriller I have seen all of these, numerous times....they do not lose their appeal.500 days of summer!
Wet Hot American Summer, Amelie, A Very Long Engagement, Green Street Hooligans, Rory O'Shea Was Here, Old Boy, Nobody Knows, Everything is Illuminated, Antique (it's a Korean movie... the English title might be Antique Bakery)
