Hi everyone. I am a 21 year old college student, 5'4" and currently 107 lb. I started going on this site at the beginning of this past summer at a weight of 150. Over the summer I joined a gym and, along with my best friend, used this site to maintain a diet of about 600 calories a day for the entire summer (there were a few cheat days here and there but not many). I lost about 20 lb. doing this. Then, I got back to school in the fall and upped my intake to 1200. Still kept losing weight. I started dating a guy in September. In December, I went home for Christmas, came back and weighed around 115 (I know, I'm probably one of hte few people who lost and didn't gain weight over Christmas...it was just too easy not to eat when I didn't have three structured meals every day). The guy I was dating insisted that I start eating again otherwise he would break up with me. So, I started upping my caloric intake, still exercising a lot. Now I am up to about 1900 calories and have seriously started increasing by 100 a week. It's hard every day to do this...I feel like I'm eating all the time, but I know I need to do it slowly for fear that I'll revert and start binging and purging again. I have been purge free for about 4-5 months, which is exciting and I went out for drinks for the first time in a while last night without obsessing over my caloric intake. It's slow but I'm getting there. Reading all of your guys's posts has really helped me and has shown me that I'm not alone and that other people have gone through and are still going through this and have survived. So it gives me hope.
I'm going back on the pill this week to try to re-induce my period, as well as eating plenty of nuts and avocadoes to up my fat intake. I was getting my period regularly while I was on it but then when I broke up with the boyfriend about 2 months ago, I went off it and my period disappeared. Any advice on this would be helpful.
I never told any of my friends about my ED, although I know my roommate noticed. So this is the first time I'm admitting to it. Ever.
Thanks for all of the help that you've given me so far. It will be a long road to recovery, but I know it will all be worth it in the end...as cliche as that sounds!
How often should you eat during the day?
