Mrs. Moly has all kinds of happy news.
Not that I put you guys last intentionally. If I had things my way, you would've known before either one of our families 'cause that's just how I roll.
But I am proud to announce that in addition to finally having my husband (who totally ditched me this evening to watch the Discovery Channel leaving me to dawdle around online and get hammered on the leftover vodka from last night) I also have..
Dun dun duuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh...
A house!
Not just any house, but my very own house. We'll be moving in at the end of the month. And no, this does not mean you get a vacation from me 'cause I'm procrastinating as long as humanly possible and am ensuring the internet is connected before I even move in.
Now for the kicker.. How can Moly afford to move into a house on Alex's salary alone? Well, she can't. 'Cause then they'd be starving and miserable and wouldn't have internet which would drive her insane.
Did you figure it out yet?
I FINALLY GOT MY JOB!
I've known for a few weeks, a few Calorie Counters have known for a few weeks. I figured it'd be an awesome thing to announce at my wedding reception. It was tooooooortureeeeeee keeping my mouth shut for that long but I did. Alex, on the other hand, didn't. I think for that alone I deserve a reward. Like a pinwheel.
Edit: Changed title to appease glinda, and now I feel like an old fogey..
Well, I never found it. But Alex bought me a new one today at the Kalahari gift shop. And it's on a keychain so I can't possibly lose it. And neither can he!
Yeah, I know you're just as excited as I am about that.
Wow, all of that is SOOO EXCITING! Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! :-D
Holy crap this is good news. Wow, Married, a House, New Job and a key chain Hamster...Yeeha!!!!
Runs and gets a drink...
A Toast, hey raise your glasses fellow CC'rs...
To Moly & Alex, their house, her job, and a pet she can't loose.
Way cool!!!!
Dude, congratulations! That's way awesome!
I'll totally join in on that toast, bagga! :-)
Cheers, Moly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Don't look now! Our little girl is all growed up! Awesome news, but honestly the important question is - is there a Tim's near the new digs?
whoa!! congratulations on job, house, and hamster :-)
Yay!! ![]()
Congratulations :D
Have a pinwheel and a bagel!
:D
Are you used to the word "husband" yet?
Now who's helping me pack!!? I'm moving a hell of a lot closer to Michigan so I'm expecting everyone near Ann Arbor to make their way down to help me move. Bring tape, 'cause we always run out. Thanks.
No way am I used to calling Alex a husband yet. Or being called a wife yet. Every time he calls me his wife I bawl like the emotional little baby that I am and every time I try to call him a husband my voice cracks and it sounds more like "hand".

I remember the day me and hubby got married, the photographer was setting up a particular pose and called me by my new married name (mrs.-----). I looked around to see where my hubby's mother was.
It takes some getting used to!
Congrats on all the great changes! ![]()
but a HOUSE and a JOB! so awesome! i can't believe you managed to keep us all in the dark for this long.
how was Kalahari?
I knew all along you'd get that job!
I'm also way too immature to have my own kid and still refer to my nephews as "it", or "ew".
I can't believe I managed to keep my mouth shut either. Notice the past week or so I haven't posted much of anything in the forums? My fingers were threatening to blow my cover. They kept typing out, IM A PHLEBOTOMIST, IM A PHLEBOTOMIST!!!
Kalahari was.. I want to say it was fun, which it was, but it had a few disappointments. When we first got there, Alex wanted to play in the water park and I was exhausted from being awake and active for more than fifteen hours. We threw everything in the room, changed into our swim suits, and ran down to the water park. There were several slides you went down on big tubes, a roller coaster, a few body slides, the wave pool, and some big, giant toilet things.
We went in the wave pool and I was way too tired to fight the giant waves and we were in the 6 foot part of the pool (I'm only 5'3). After getting clobbered by a few waves Alex realised I wasn't breathing at all and finally saved me. It was a really exhausting few minutes and it was torture trying to drag myself back to the hotel room, then stay awake to play with Alex.
He filled up the hot tub while I unpacked and made a few drinks. Getting into a very hot hot tub while drinking alcohol while really exhausted was not a pleasant experience. I dehydrated and fainted after managing to crawl out. After that, Alex stopped drinking (he'd started before we went into the water park, and had a bit to drink at the reception) 'cause he realised everything he was doing was somehow hurting me.
So overall the first night was a little disappointing. Especially since I was exhausted and Alex was drunk and hyper, so he wanted to play until 3 AM when I'd gotten up at 5 AM.
The next day was a lot better. Breakfast was yummy, I was more awake to enjoy the water park, I whooped Alex's ass in ski ball. The only part I didn't like was the spa. They wanted to massage me and I told them no way in hell. I did not go there to get touched, only to get my fingernails painted, which they did half-assed. When I came out and showed Alex he even said it looks worse than what I can do to myself, and I suck at painting my nails. None of the tips were even, the top coat was pink-tinted and you could see where it was put on really thick and then put on really thin, my cuticles looked worse coming out than they did going in. He was not happy with them at all, and neither was I.
I said to hell with it, let them smudge, and went back into the water park. It was entertaining for maybe the first hour, but after you go on all the slides, nearly drown in the pool, and walk around the place a few times you realise it's not the greatest thing in the world. We spent a majority of the time in the wave pool, floating around while it was calm and seeing how far the waves threw us when they turned them on.
After the waves undid the top of my swim suit a second time, I got tired of water and wanted to go home. I missed my kitties, I was still really tired (we went to bed after 3, woke up at 8), I missed my computer and wanted to see all of the wedding pictures..
We're going to go back again. Alex wants to go back in October for my birthday and we've already told friends about it, shown them the pictures of the resort, so we're getting a group of people to go.
My favourite part of the whole trip was watching other people going down the slides and the entire time I wished I had my camera on hand to take pictures, so I figured I'd get pictures of my friends playing there.
congratulations moly! 2008 is going to be a year to remember for you in so many ways! i couldn't be happier for you and alex ![]()
when do u start your new career?
when do we get to see some wedding pics? -and tell us about the reception!
inquiring minds need to know LOL
