haha! No she doesn't, she sends me packages sometimes cause Im at Uni at the moment, and that was in the latest one! I think it was given to her, so she passed it onto me! I think two squares is a good plan, I figure it gives me something to look forward to-although today I will have to leave it a while in order to control myself first!! :-p Thankyou!
be prepared to give it away if you have to.
Speaking as a chocoholic I would save a few small squares and share the rest with your friends.  Good luck!

My parents got me a bunch of chocolate for valentines day too (I just got the package.) I don't plan on eating any of it.. trying to give it away, hehe. I bought some cookies instead that will give me more bang for my calorie..
My mom sent me a cherry pie yesterday, I let the husband and kids eat it. I stayed away. Yay for me! Be strong, you can do it!
Eat your allotted squares V-E-R-Y slowly.  Allow each tiny little piece to melt slowly in your mouth.  Just figure the calories to work it into your daily plan and look forward to your treat.
As a chocoholic myself, I always eat chocolate with my eyes closed. It tastes better :)

elainemiller, I had to laugh when I read your last post.  Sometimes my eyes close involuntarily when eating chocolate  but I'll have to try closing them intentionally.

Ooh, as another confirmed chocoholic I'd have real trouble with that one!

One trick I use is to have a square with a cup of tea.  Warm your mouth up with the tea, then the chocolate melts sooo smoothly :)

Hey, I have just joined this site and have a similar problem lol. What Im doing is slicing a banana down the middle and crumbling a square into it, bake it for 15 mins then have that. You get a massive sugar rush and its gorgeous, anyway stops me from urging for more chocolate. Hope this helps, good luck with it anyway :-)

The tea is a good idea, makes you feel like your full of chocolate, when it's just tea.

Hide the bar in the fridge or the cupboard somewhere that you can't see it when you open the door. That way you'll sort of forget about it. I didn't think that would work for me, but it really did. Not having it there to remind me when I open the fridge and stare into it blankly really helps Laughing

Try and save your daily two square allowance for the end of the day, or some part of the day where you're sitting down and relaxing, it will make it so much better. And if you put it on a small plate and put the rest away you'll feel less like getting up to get more.

Good luck, I was going to by a block of dairy milk today, but all the ones I could find were so huge that I settled for a freddo frog. Once I ate it I couldn't eat any more :)

Here's an idea - freeze it!  It's harder to eat when it's frozen, so it lasts longer and you eat it slower :)

As one confirmed chocoholic to the next, when I start it IS hard to stop.  Have a piece or two, then firmly, yes, it will be hard, put it down and out of sight.  Then, go distract yourself for 30 mins like taking the dog out for a walk, or just doing something where you will be doing something for around 30 mins or more and you will be surprised at how much less your craving is.  The feeling of wanting to eat more might still be there but, your will power will be much stronger.

just tell yourself after the second piece it wont taste good anymore...

cause when i eat too much, the food ends up tasting bad.

i replaced chocolate with prunes. you should see me when i eat them. i look like the chick in the dove commercial! =P

I probably shouldn't post this and give you ideas, but I love to put 3 pieces of galaxy bar in my mouth. One up each side of my gums and one on my tongue. Close my eyes and pretend I've gone to heaven LOL!
mmm...i like to put a piece of plain milk chocolate in the roof of my mouth and then melt it with hot coffee.
Ideal solution - send the bar across to me - I'm in NZ.  I will then post you back 4 squares of chocolate every week for you to treat yourself with. Honestly I won't eat it (yeah right!).

Gosh even the thought of chocolate is making my mouth water

I've solved the problem by throwing the entire thing out, in the bins OUTSIDE which are being collected tomorrow!

Just dont trust myself enough yet to eat it sensibly!

Thankyou for all the suggestions though!

xx
