my mum wont let me exercise, only walk on the treadmill. will this help with weight loss?? i want to run, but i can only do it when there is no-one in the house, which is hardly ever. i hate doing cardio, it strains my body. does anyone know any way to lose weight without much exercise?

Just out of curiousity, why won't your mother let you exercise?

Also, what are your stats (age, height, wegiht, gender) and what is your goal weight?
As for exercises you can do situps, pushups, jumping jacks, jump roping, hula hooping, and such at home.
Nevermind, you answered it in this thread

You said that you are 163cm (5'4") and 47kg (103lbs).

It sounds like you are already at a healthy weight.  If you feel that you need to lose more weight have you consulted a doctor to see if weight loss is needed?
because she thinks i am underweight, that my heart cant handle the running. i think this is not tru. i always fight with her about it. i think i am fat. i want to run because i dont want to gain anymore weight than i have. i have gained 4 kg in 2 months by binging.
You shouldn't think your fat.  You are actually at a unhealthy bmi being 5'4" and only 103 pounds.  You should be between 115- 135 pounds to be in a healthy range for your height.  Maybe you should talk to your doctor to see if it is healthy for you to exercise at your weight and height.  You should also maybe consult a doctor if you think you are fat you may have an eating disorder (ED).
laughingbee- Please do consult your doctor.  I think your mom has a right to be concerned.

Good Luck!
I said this to another girl earlier: try, instead of losing weight, working out with weights! I have been doing this thing called toning for teens and it works! I promise you won't get all big and bulky from it- you'll get TONED. Please don't try to lose more weight because being anorexicly skinny looks really disgusting!
i agree with wannabehott.

toned = high repetitions (12-15), low weight
buff = low reps (8-10), high weight

Regardless if you're looking for toned or buff, make sure you have enough weight so that you can feel the burn for the last 3 or so reps.

Another piece of useful infomation: muscles burn calories. So the more muscles you have, the more calories you burn = weight loss/maintenance.
I agree with everything you say EXCEPT the toned/buff thing. The workout I'm doing makes you do a repetition of 12 with a low weight then a repetition of 10 with a medium weight and then a repetition of 8 with a heavy weight. I'm not trying to start an arguement, though!
