Aloha everyone,

I'm lookin' into buying some sort of whey protein, but I want a somewhat tasty one (which I'm sure is hard to find, since most things that are supposed to be good for you tastes like crap), so I'm thinkin' about buying the CytoSport Muscle Milk protein. I hear it's good and helps a lot in muscle building, which is definitely what I want to do. I don't plan on builing TOO much muscle, of course, I'd still like that lean look, but with muscle definition.

Has anyone tried the Muscle Milk whey protein? If so, which kind (flavor) and how did it taste? Not only that, but did you notice a change in muscle mass/body fat or anything along those lines since you started drinking it?

Thanks a lot!
Love and Alohas

I've never tried Muscle Milk, but from the time I've spent researching, it's got a reeeeally high calorie-to-protein ratio. I drink Gold Standard (Optimum Nutrition) double chocolate...it has 120 cal for 24 g protein and tastes SO GOOD! A scoop of that in 6 oz cold water...mmm...or in 6-8 oz skim milk...it's amazing. Yum.
I have no idea about Muscle Milk but anytime I see "Body Part + Milk" I laugh like a little kid.
Robyneg - Yeah, Muscle Milk is rather high in calories... about 348cals for 32g protein, and that's with WATER. With milk it would be about 638 calories, which is outrageous! I don't think I work out long enough or hard enough to really down 350-650 calories 2-3 times a day without it being actual food. However, I looked up the Gold Standard protein and the price is crazy! Much more expensive compared to muscle milk, but I like the calorie content so much better. I'm just afraid to buy anything that I can't try first. At my gym, there are those little individual muscle milk shakes in the refrigerator so I could try it before I buy it if I wanted to. With the Gold Standard, I'd have to take the chance at buying it before trying it, and I usually don't like doing that. I recently bought a soy protein shake mix for about 17 bucks. Tried it once and I HATED IT! lol It's up in my cupboard doing nothing; a good 17 bucks wasted. So yeah.

You can get gold standard for 50% off the list price if you order through amazon.com

I just got a 5 lb tub of gold standard for $32, which should last me for quite some time.

dm84 - That's what I was thinking too, but $32 is way too much for me to be spending on something I've never tried. If I didn't like it, that would be $32 wasted cause if I don't like it, I sure as hell aint gonna continue drinking it, so yeah. hehe
The muscle milk sounds good! I'll have to try that.

I buy the 100% Chocolate Whey protein drink from Wal-Mart. 23 grams of protein and 110 calories. It's very good and less expensive.

Muscle Milk Light powder has 40% less calories. I use it with water. Though the consistency is like chocolate water. It's not anything like the thick milk shake like consistency of regular Muscle Milk. But it still taste better and mixes better than GNC 100% pro whey protein mix. Which I have also used.

And as long as I use Muscle Milk Light with water and count the calories, I have been burning fat. I also only use 1 to 2 scoops per day. Which means sometimes I am only having 1/2 a serving per day. Which is fine. I use it to up my protein immediately after cardio/exercise.

Don't buy it from a GNC store, it's super expensive that way.
