So I don't know about you but when I exercise I like to listen to music...it gets me motivated, and when I'm walking I have something to keep a beat to.

I know I'm not the only one who does this! :P So I was just curious as to what everyone else is keeping on their sweatin' it playlists?

I'll give you a little same of mine-

Call On Me- Eric Prydz
Almost anything by Linkin Park. (Yeah their old stuff is kinda emo. Yeah they scream alot but they are INTENSE.)
Grace Kelly- Mika (starts of slow, gets higher)

But I basically go with whatever is on my mp3. Now what about you?

I like to listen to heavy metal, it just gets me pumped. Limp Bizkit is quite good. But also just what?s on my iPod =]
My ancient mp3 player died on me, and I really need to get a new ipod or similar. But if I'm at home on the treadmill I usually listen to:

Dream Theater - Images and Words, Scenes
Iron Maiden - Anything from NotB - 7th Son
U2 - anything I have handy
Evergrey - anything
The Mars Volta - anything

I mostly listen to stuff I enjoy concentrating on, not background music I don't care much about. It makes the time go by much quicker.
I just realized how random my mp3 players is. I went for a brisk walk for half an hour...and I listened to Slipknot, Mamma Mia (ABBAXD), and Steriogram... and that's just to name a few. :s
I have an "XM to Go"  that records up to 5 hours of tunes and I find I tend to press the record button for workout tunes most while I'm listening to the 80's channel.  Also in my cardio class alot of the songs she plays on her aerobic cd's are from the 80's.  Lots of Madonna - ZZ Top - Duran Duran Lots of dance tunes.

Any music by Rammstein.
Coming Undone by Korn (come on, the first line of the song is "keep holding on", what better workout song is there?
It's funny the number of people that listen to metal music while exercising.

My favorite song to start a run with is Slipknot's Pulse of the Maggots.  It has a great marching sound at the beginning that just sets the pace for my run.

Some punk rock can be good also.  Just anything with a pretty high tempo.

I need to update some of my songs in iTunes with BPM so I can make a playlist based on the rythmn of my exercise.
"pink" cuz i can, mizunderstood, respect." primus" jerry was a race car driver." black eyed peas" hey mama." white stripes " seven nation army. " big and rich" jalepano
Metal is pretty sweet though... it's got a high tempo, a hard beat to keep you moving, and it's aggressive too. :)

I really like 'The Nameless' by Slipknot as well.
no dance is the only music, gets your heart rate up just listening to it....................
Ive said it before, and will say it again.

"rearviewmirror" by Pearl Jam is the BEST song to run to.
kattastic: a nice 10 minute live jam version is pretty awesome compared to the relatively short album version.

PJ fan?
These days I mostly listen to bits of both OK GO albums.  Much of their stuff i enjoy as music and the beat is pretty great to run to.   I probably should mp3'ize a few of my old megadeath cd's or some metalica or something and run to that for the extra adrenaline rush... but for now OK GO is working out well.

I need to find my regular mp3 player.  It went missing and I've been slumming it with an old RCA Lyra with a whopping 128MB of space (not even enough room for 2 albums of music).  Either I find my old player soon or I may have to buy an SD card to expand the Lyra upto something more usable.
I've got a Toshiba Gigabeat with 10 GB on it..... I can't remember how many songs that is supposed to be... but it's got A LOT of stuff. They're expensive but very worth it for anyone with a big collection, and not wanting to buy into the ipod craze.

I like OK GO. =D I haven't heard much of their stuff, just 'Here It Goes Again', 'Hello My Treacherous Friends' and 'A Million Ways to Be Cruel'.
dhwebb - I don't think the word "fan" quite covers my love for their music... I have the concert ticket reciepts from the past 10 years to prove it! hahah...

OK GO just reminded me of another one, The Shout Out Louds is a good one for exercise. Soundgarden's Superunknown is also amazing.
i love drum and bass (aphrodite, adam c, etc...) to get moving to.  also, I download podcasts of about an hour so there is new music weekly.  if I don't like it, I just quickly get back to one I know is good.

love break beats and beastie boys, too - I have a playlist for the gym that keeps only the high BPM songs up so I don't have to fumble around.

ps - call on my is a great song - but it's on my boat playlist... ;)

Danger Zone. Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone." On constant repeat.

I defy anyone to work out and NOT give it 110% with "Danger Zone" as your background music. In fact, I find it makes me do EVERYTHING better, so typically that's what I'll be listening to even when I'm not working out. On constant repeat.

True story: a couple years ago as a spectator at the Boston Marathon, I met Margaret Okayo, the current women's course record holder, doing pre-race stretches. She was listening to music on an iPod. I asked her what she was listening to. She held it up so I could see the screen. "Danger Zone." So I pulled my iPod out and showed her MY screen, and we shared a good, long laugh.
I have to many to name them all, but during exercise, here are a few bands on my MP3 player I will listen to to keep me going-
The Clash
The Ramones
Sirsy (awesome NY band)
Rage Against the Machine
The Strokes
System of a Down
Radiohead
Weezer
Sublime
The Pixies
The Flaming Lips
Hot Hot Heat

I need to stop listing now.... I just realized I have too many bands on my Ipod.....80gb of space to fill kinda does that (and I'm not even near the full mark yet... eep)
I have so many songs, so heres a few artists.

BT, Chemical Brothers, HIM, Air, The Mars Volta, Hooverphonic, Moby, Noisex, Orgy, Hybrid, Marilyn Manson, Sneaker Pimps, Placebo, Royksopp, Death Cab For Cutie/Postal Service, New Order, Planet Funk, Portishead, MSI, mindFIELD, Fischerspooner, Filter, Deftones, The Streets, The Prodigy, The Servant, Smashing Pumpkins, The Crystal Method, Taproot, Radiohead, Pendulum....

ehh thats just what comes to mind, I have a huge collection. Having a love for such a wide variety of music really stinks because I cant fit it all on a MP3 player. I usually gotta broadcast my music over the internet and listen to it via PDA through shoutcast.com. As long as I have a cell signal I have a perfect MP3 player that plays my music from my home computer to my cell phone. I like having everything on hand because it also depends on my mood. It helps get in the groove.
yay PUINSAI - love love love your taste.  I put Prodigy on repeat all the time.  Just ordered the best of Moby and Crystal Method - wow!  this is def great music for anyone that doesn't know about it.  my ipod isn't full at 47 days consec music, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I know my trainer listens to Mars Volta when he works out, so that is a good one, too.
