I want to start running and exercising at the gym. What are some good songs for my ipod that have a good beat?

Devil's Dance Floor - Flogging Molly

Desolation Row - My Chemical Romance

Spellbound - Inkubus Sukkubus

Edit: Actually, a lot of songs off of Disturbed's album 'The Sickness' get me moving

techno **** for sure, anything with a sick bassline and good beat..

heads will roll - yeah yeah yeahs

(the "dance till you're dead" remix is even better)

ah.. i forgot all of the songs i listen to, sorry, but look for remixes of pop songs on youtube (lady gaga and all that). they always have a good beat & the remixes r so erratic you don't get bored.

Check the "Fitness Music" area for some free podcast with inspiring music.

I listened to a few before I found the one that had some good tracks - for me.

Good Luck!

If you like metal, here is my current jogging playlist.

The Potbellez have an awesome album (self titled) that I love to crank on the treadmill. Every track is a winner

M.I.A. : it is varied enough that you don't get tired of it quickly, which is one pro blem I have with exercise  music -after using it&nb sp;for a few weeks I  ;get sick of it.

I also listen to Rammstei n and Massive Attack.

I suggest a good Sousa march like "Colonel Bogey". You will know it when you hear it. The metronome marking is 100 beats per minute. It keeps a steady beat for the whole song. Run to this piece a couple times and the perfect beat will stay in your ear the rest of your life. Then, you can listen to songs you really like and never worry about it again.

I always use overly poppy stuff like Hilary Duff or even the occasional Ashlee Simpson.  While most of the music I really enjoy is a bit softer, it's not nearly as great as pumping me up.

Oh, and also try some pop punk/pop rock.  All Time Low's new record, "Nothing Personal" is great for a jog!

good luck
